Disappointing.
While the wait staff was perfectly fine, the owner/manager was a real tool. I found him to be very un-professional to the point of patronizing the customers.
The food was good (not brilliant) but I won't go back after the atmosphere that I experienced. Plus they serve cold cornbread. Who serves cold cornbread?

Worse barbecue ever!.
This was the worse barbecue I have ever had. The ribs looked and tasted like they were boiled then baked. There was no smoke flavor and the brisket tasted like pot roast! Will not go back again and will discourage friends and family not to as well.

Great BBQ!.
I lived in Texas for a short time and when I came home I could never find Brisket smoked right. These guys know what they are doing! They don't use quite as strong of wood as the Texans, but Iowegians wouldn't like it that way. Always moist and tender, and the portions are big for the price. They make Potato Salad that is out of this world, and the Pulled Pork is awesome as well. If you haven't tried this place yet get there! And stop at Praire Meadows while your in town. Iowa needs you money!

wow!!!.
I'm blown away! This is the best BBQ around. Nothing against the other "Famous" place in town-but they seem like amatuers compared to Kin Folks. Brisket that melts in your mouth, pulled chicken that is silky and smooth, and the best potato salad since my grandmothers. I love the fact that the bbq sauce is served on the side so they can't hide the true flavor of the meat. I hope they open out on the west side soon.

best bbq!.
These guys know their stuff. I travel to Texas alot and this place is right out of the south!! The food is so good here that I took more food home after I already devoured my dinner. Home-made ice cream was very authentic. Unbelieveable food for the price>
