Highly Recommend (NOT) – The service at this establishment is an absolute joke. If you do plan on going, factor in a lot of extra time for waiting around. If you go during your lunch hour, plan on just taking a 1/2 day in the afternoon and by the time you are actually waited on it will be time for dinner. My recommendation is to avoid this place.

Hartford's most disturbing restaurant – well, to start off the workers cool, calm, and down to earth. they're super friendly and do whatever to satisfy customers. whatever the customer wants customer gets.(thats if they have it in house). As for the food, it's good but lacks flavor, menu is very minimal, sometimes you go to wash your hands and you end up noticing that both faucets let out nothing but cold water. theres actually been a few times where ive gone in and seen bugs crawling on the bar like if they owned the place. One of the owners is always all to busy partying to take care of his restaurant, this guy drinks alcohol religiously

Wise to Avoid – We had the pastas - they were over priced and very poorly made. The sauce was watery and tasteless - it more closely resembled soup then pasta. As well the chicken was poorly cooked and was extremly dry.

Overall, it was not a very pleasent experience - I would recommend opting for another Hartford spot.

This restaurant is a "must dine"! – I have been going to Red Plate for 3 years now and I am happy to say that, not only is the food amazing, but if you have a special twist - within reason- that you would like the chef to accomadate, they are more than willing to do that. The waitstaff is EXCELLENT and Red is cheerful and friendly - and usually walking around the dining room to make sure that everyone is happy. Most nights it is standing room only, so be sure to get in early! :)

More than a late-night pizza joint and watering hole, this trendy yet unassuming downtown spot offers good food at a good price. – The Scene
This pizzeria buzzes with as much energy as the neon sign over the door. A fun collection of license plates hangs on the otherwise unadorned exposed-brick walls. For lunch, dinner or late-night lounging, there's rarely an empty seat in the house, so make a reservation.

The Food
Those seeking straightforward, Italian-American fare with plenty of flavor and zero pretension will be pleased with the menu. Begin with bruschetta, lightly toasted and sprinkled with chopped tomatoes and sweet mozzarella. Pizza lovers savor the Lighthouse pie festooned with succulent white clams, garlic and olive oil. Old-fashioned spaghetti and meatballs, a bountiful bowl of perfectly seasoned beef tangled in pasta, comes drenched in tangy marinara. Chocolate lovers devour the molten chocolate torte served with a scoop of ice cream and drizzled with warm caramel.
