Fake Reviews by Shamus, GeekLady and buchell – Come Guys...it is so OBVIOUS! Shamus12321, GeekLady and buchell profiles were all created by the owners in a FUTILE attempt to bolster their reputation through FAKE REVIEWS. If you click on their profile names, you will see that the only review in the history is for this joint. And the sad part is... the food used to be really good, and now, really, really bad stuff going on here!
Excellent Italian Food – I love this restaurante. I grew up in a suburb of New York City and I am accustomed to great italian eats. I can tell you right now that Lubrano's is the best italian food in the triangle. I have even served tables there for a period of time and I am close friends with the owner. Like any restaurantes, Lubrano's can sometime have a bad day. But the good outweighs the bad here. I have been eating there for years; since the place opened. One thing that is very special about this place is that they will cook your food exactly how you want it. You can basically create your own pasta dish and add any sort of meat or vegetables to it with any time of sauce. The Pizza is truely delicious with thin and crispy new your style crust. And the stromboli's.... fuhget about it. If you have had a bad experience at this restaurante, just give it another chance. These family owned restaurantes are a rare breed these days and we need to keep them up and running. And another thing, make friends with the employees. They are all really nice people and getting to know they will enhace the quality of your experience there.
Favorite Entrees: Shrimp Fra Diavola, Aglio Olio (w/ chicken and broccoli), Shrimp Scampi (w/ Spinach and Broccoli), Arrabiata, Veal Saltimbocca, and last but not least Shrimp Parmigiana.
The Pizza is incredible but the strombolis are DANGEROUSLY GOOD.
Wow - this place has really gone downhill – I used to be a regular at Lubranos because I work nearby. However on my two recent visits I have been really disappointed. During my first visit, my soup was cold and stale and there was a black curly hair in it. The management waved me off when I tried to diplomatically explain (there was a crowd in there). On my second visit (yes, for some reason I decided to go back when a coworker wanted to go there), my pasta was undercooked (think crunchy), the soda was watery, there were 2 errors on my bill, and the place was filthy - the floor, the table was sticky, and there was chewing gum stuck to the wall. It's a shame when a neighborhood place goes downhill like this. I will not be returning.
Excellent food and service – The breads were freshly baked, the Caesar's salad was delicious, and the lasagna was as good as... well... my own homemade. Our waiter was very pleasant and checked on us and refilled the tea drinkers glasses often. They also had a nice wine list and dessert selections.
Best kept secret! – Excellent!!! Italian food. Authentic taste and healthy portions. Staff and owner are very friendly and personable. Prices are cheaper than most italian restuarants. A must try. You'll be hooked like I am. A loyal customer for the last 6 years. Food is consistentely outstanding authentic. No chain food here!
Our favorite place for Italian food – Low carb, low salt, does not matter, they will cook to order and the food is delicious. Everything made from scratch. Reasonable priced house wines. A great mom and po place!
Whoa, what happened? – Man, i thought we had a good thing going here! As my previous review stated, the first four visits were great, (in so far as the food was concerned). But let me tell you, the last two visits were NOT GOOD! On our fifth visit, we ordered Calamari...it was so overcooked! We sent it back, the second batch was the same! Then they told us that they ran out. Then they brought out two of the dinners, my wife's and my son's. It was fifteen minutes later before mine and my daughter's meal came out....and everything was overcooked. Well, we thought it was just a bad night for them (and they did offer free desert). So, we went back one more time....big mistake (the place being 80% empty should have been an indicator). If someone can recommend a good Italian cafe with moderate pricing, please let us know!
Excellent independent Italian restaurant – In an unassuming strip shopping center in Morrisville is this very worthwhile mom and pop Italian restaurant. The interior is comfortable and inviting; service is excellent. Expect to wait on weekends and at peak lunch times, but the wait is worth it. The garlic knots sold at dinner are very nice, and the pasta dishes in general are recommended. Try the specials; I've never had a bad one. Very reasonably priced.
Best Italian restaurant in area; great food and service – Easily the best Italian food in the area, and at great prices. Our family, four adults and two children, sampled everything from shrimp pizza to lobster ravioli, salmon and shrimp pasta, fettuccine and spinach ravioli to cannolis and chocolate cake. We all raved and passed around each dish. The kids' menu was excellent; my grandson ate more at that meal than he has ever eaten at table. The seafood was fresh, the pasta perfectly al dente, the cream sauce for the ravioli was smooth, rich and a perfect complement. Best cannolis we've ever had. Our server was friendly, funny, completely knowledgeable and attentive to our every need. We are new to the area, but already have found our favorite restaurant...it's Lubrano's.
Poor service! Food isn't anything great – If you're looking for some great Italian food, I highly recommend you do not dine at Lubrano's. My spouse and I went there with a couple of our friends thinking that the food would be great since it's owned by Italians. Guess what? It's not. It's a shame because it looks cute inside. The service is poor too. When we visited, it wasn't even that busy and the service was pretty bad. It takes a lot for me to write on one of these boards and if I take the time to complain, then it's pretty bad. There are plenty of Italian restaurants in RTP...just drive by Lubrano's and go some place else!
