Without a Half-Off Sale It Can't Possibly Be Worth It – Just in town to visit family; back home on the West Coast I'm a green-minded gal who is a thrift store regular. Decided to get out and about and check out the local thrift scene in the Boca Raton area. This store was a disappointment. While the store is divided into sections (or 'departments'), they aren't very clearly defined and are certainly not visually appealing (hey - even stores like Goodwill have upped the anty and display the items they sell in a more professional manner which mimics that of retail chains). VERY limited children's section, and the prices are outrageous for second-hand items no matter their quality, and I found this held true for the other sections in the store as well. Let me put it this way - I came across wooden shoe-keepers (what you slip into dress shoes so they maintain their shape when not in use) priced at $12 a pair. Seems reasonable maybe, unless you know that home stores sell pairs of these new for $10. There was a half-off sale today, so I was able to score two pairs for the price I'd pay for about one pair new, and I was able to reuse rather than buying new (especially since they're wood), but other than that deal, I really struck out. Maybe it was just an off day for them, but from the other reviews, I'm guessing not. If I had nothing else to do, I might stop back by first thing one morning and see if the selection is better then, but probably not during this visit.
