S.W.A.T busts down neighbors door and leasing office lies – I have had more issues with this apartment complex than i can count. My car has been broken into multiple times. My apartment has been broken into in broad daylight the apartment above me was broken into (they removed the door jam). Management dosn't give a crap about anyone. I made the mistake of renewing my least last year for 12 months and i have regreted it every day. I was pregnant at the time and on bedrest so no way i could facilitate a move since i'm on my own.

The main office assistant is a stuck up bitch who will harras you if she dosn't like you. I have made multiple complains about neighbors noise and not picking up after their dogs and nothing is ever done. i have made more repairs on stuff myself like fixing piping and leaky faucets becuase maintenance dosn't know the difference between a hammer and a wrench. Now their is mold growing in the bathroom and when i went to replace the caulk (myself) i found layer upon layer of old nasty black caulk that was just covered and not removed and cleaned first. Their are more than 6 mexicans (multi family) living in the apartment next to us and they are dealing drugs i have seen them walk out to the parking lot to do the "exchange" Does the leasing office do anything? Hell no

Oh and dont bother trying to go in anytime close to their Openeing time on saturdays becuase they put up the "will be back" sign up and dont actually show up to work until after noon. you cant say i'm exagerating read any of the other reviews here. Multiple sights show horrible reviews and believe me its all true and probably an understatement.

OLENTANGY COMMONS UNSAFE AND OVERPRICED – Crawford Hoying has not figured out that their days are numbered on how long they can get away with putting people in dangerous positions and providing no heat for them in the winter. Car windows are smashed in on a regular basis and apartments are broken into with no response from manager of Olentangy Commons and Regional Manager backs her up. Residents are unsafe and are expected to shell out money for car window repairs, stolen personal belongings, not to mention putting themselves and their families in dangerous positions on a daily basis with no security system in place and no plans for improvement. ONE volunteer security person is supposedley on site which is a JOKE for this large complex 24/7--when does he sleep and eat? Our car has been smashed five times and our apartment broken into two times...we are stuck with expense. It took maintenance from JANUARY TO JUNE to come fix our smashed in door glass from our robbery! UNBELIEVABLE! WE called and called and called..Our vents do not work AT ALL in two bedrooms upstairs ..baby's room has NO HEAT..we are called liars by the manager and, yes, you guessed it, Regional Manager backs up the manager..We had to buy space heaters and window air conditioners after months of trying to get help. Pool is taken over by drunken college students. Why can't the families take their kids to the pool ? Who hired these people? UNBELIEVABLE. Please take this seriously.Crawford Hoying, please listen to your residents and bring some safety to their lives and also provide heat to these units. YOU HAVE THE MONEY to provide some security cameras and some REAL security staff to these properties.

DO NOT DO LIST for Residents – DO NOT LIST:

Complain about the roaches in your frig. till it breaks down. But help the maintence stomp them down as they replace it.

Complain about the mold on your walls not once but two winters. But, throw out your coats, call Code Enforcement and tell your spouse with COPD not to worry.

Complain about people you ask to pick up after there dog. But, get a restraining order, because they have started WWW III.

Complain about your grandchild that has a breathing problem and they office staff telling you they do not care. But, just go off like a rocket, what have you got to lose.

Complain about another mother that brings her child over to beat up another child playing with your child. But her to take her child home, he is a problem and not allowed here. Be told you should not of hit her back, but call the law. O ya I will call the police after I am done. They may not tell whom started it, but they will see whom finished it.

Complain about a 7 year old that is running all over, with a knife cutting trees, and breaking bottles, swimming without a parent. Find out where they live and call CPS, so the next year there right back out there alone.

Camplain about the drug dealing, cars being y into or the security lights that have not worked in over a year. Call police as many times possible, deal with a fight between AEP and Crawford. Be told your going to be security lights up by Amy and never see that.

We are so proud to see Police that are now our courtesy officers living on site...thought there for a minute we were living at Lincoln Park West.

After all that, pay your rent on time, clean up after your dog, control your children and for god sake take care of your unit. They will tell you that YOUR not happy here, so your contract will not be renewed.

PS..Do not call Mr Crawford, he will stick up for his staff. :(

Your Loss – Don't move here! The apartment complex is a mess. More than one family living into many apartments. (lease violation) Lots of pitbull dogs (lease violation!) Trash all over the place, kids running around areas unsupervised. You have to dodge potholes like land mines, abandoned cars in what was to be occupied apartment tenants spaces. And I have witnessed drug deals done in the parking lots. Management not on site, and they don't do anything when you inform them of these problems! But they like your rent money come 1st of the month!

Bottom line: YOU WILL REGRET SIGNING THE LEASE!!

helpful managment company – I live in Citation Club in Hilliard and have been very pleased with my living conditions. My apartment is clean and sunny and the common areas are pleasant and inviting. I would recommend renting in this community to others.

Olentangy Commons = Shady Mangement / Unsafe (Break-Ins) – After living in the Ohio State off-campus area for 4 years all at different location I decided to move to a quieter and nicer location. Well I can honestly say I made the worst living choice by moving to the Olentangy Commons out of all of the 5 places in the last 5 years.

Pros:

Large Bedrooms

Parking - only had to park on street 5 times this year

Pool Parties - just have a friend and you can still go

Free W/D - probably because they screwed us over on our unit

Cons:

BREAK-INS:

Many have heard about the serial rap*st that terrorized Columbus. The OC was the location of one of his assaults. He was able to easily break into the apartment by ripping out the mail slot located on the front door and then unlocking the door. (This information was passed along by an OC employee)

Car - broken into, had CDs and stereo stolen.

Apartment Condition on Move-In:

Bathroom - Was not cleaned, the tube was not just stained but also had soapscum and mildew(tried to cover up with caulk). Shower leaks. Also Floor dirty

Kitchen - Stove lacked a drip pan, and only moderately clean. Refrigerator light was broken and uncleaned on outside. Rain water leaks into cabinet. Overall only moderately cleaned.

Front Door - The door frame its self was rott*ng away, horrible seals around door, didn't shut properly.

Linen Closet - smelled like cat piss(almost vom*ted so strong).

Electric Bill - Unit was vacant for about a year and OC never paid the electric bill, so on move it we got stuck with the Bill(In roommates name and they was to lazy to follow up, so they just covered it).

Changed Apartment - We signed a lease for a specific unit and on move it day they told us an employee wanted to live by his friends, so they changed our location (tough luck for us), was suppose to be a remodeled unit.

Vents - All of the vents were dusty and returned vent was clogged.

Maintenance:

All of the issues from move in were never fixed. I personally have filled 12 maintenance request since the beginning of the lease. They have only showed up three times. Two of the times were to fix the furnace, which was never fixed properly(thermostat temps never correct). Also on one trip maintenance was rude and complained the whole time how we shouldn't have called on a Sunday night(I'm sorry but I don't get to pick when the furnace breaks). The other time they came by and didn't fix anything just looked around. This is worse than the slum lords I had on campus.

Walls - they are paper thin and can hear everything through them.

Open spaces - Dog Sh*t everywhere outside

Management:

They have a shady clause in the lease which always them to create public charges and increase rent even if under a lease agreement.

General Lease Terms: Section 1. Premises Leased.

"Landlord, where not required by law, may discontinue any facilities, amenities, gratuities or such services rendered by Landlord and furnished to several residents on a common basis, not expressly covenanted for herein; it being understood that they constitute no part of the consideration for this Lease."

Over charged - Confused roommate into paying an extra $200 dollar security deposit

Clueless - lost 3 separate rent checks causing hassles with my bank and correcting the issues with management. Never returned my calls force me to do all of the leg work for their mistakes. Also the main office no one knows whats going on but a select two people.

Soliciting - They claim to to a No-soliciting apartment complex, but we have had countless Door to Door salesmen and numerous advertisements placed on all the vehicles which ends of littering the parking lots.

The list goes on but I think you get the picture. Please do not make the same mistake I did. Ohio State reviews local complexes "OSU Off-Campus Living" website and only one Landlord have a higher rate of failure to issues. Slum Lords to a better job than the OC.

Exceptionally horrible! – The employees at Crawford Communities and their various leasing offices (i.e. Olentangy Commons) are actually small land-dwelling snails. They move at a useless pace, and are dreadfully unable to communicate in any native human tongue. Simple questions are met with blank stares, phone calls are not returned, and if you should need a key to open your mailbox, you will be given 3 more front door keys instead.

Maintenance people at Olentangy commons will:

1a) not fix what they were called out to fix, 1b) break other things in the process, 1c) not fix the things they broke on previous service calls when called out to fix those things. If you're extra lucky, you'll be billed for the broken stuff.

Enjoy.

Devils! – DO NOT LEASE AN APARTMENT AT CITATION CLUB, NOBLE CLUB, OR ANY OF CRAWFORD COMMUNITIES PROPERTIES!

They have the worst management especially Patricia managing Noble Club and Citation Club Apts. She's so stupid, arrogant and you can't have a conversation with her at all! She has had my car towed from a resident parking spot! even though I've lived at the complex for over a year, and my car is registered with the rental office. I tried to talk to her about it, but all she could say was that this was not her problem! I asked her for a prorated amount for a partial month since I've lived here month to month since my lease expired, instead of giving mean amount as requested, she sent me an eviction notice! as though I have refused to pay rent. As are all of these property management, she's a major a-hole!

WORST PLACE TO RENT – WORST MANGEMENT EVER! I have moved in during first week of January of 2006 and currently still residing in the property (OCt 2006). Ever since I have moved in, I wanted my front door to get fixed, because they had been insecurely put on and the lock was put in poorly. Now if you live in a apartment your front door is your main security to your properties and they have made me feel insecure in my own apartment. If you Want a SECURE and safe place to live in, THIS IS NOT IT!
