Only eat at Hot Wok if you want to literally have the Pu Pu Platter! We ate there last night and got violently ill. I wasn't sure if it was from the lady continuously wiping her nose with her sleeve and hand or from the chef using the restroom wearing his apron. I called to speak with the owner and suddenly nobody spoke English well. One girl said it was a "family" owned company but didn't know who the owner was, ha! One guy gave me the number to their insurance and some guy on his personal phone called me back 10 minutes later requesting for our social and birthday. HORRIBLE customer service and nobody will take ownership. We have reported them to the Department of Public Health.
Service is not on the menu. The manager is a woman that obviously has never thought customer service matters. Take it or leave it. I think we will leave it.
Great Delivery! – We have ordered take out from Hot Wok for the past 7 years. I have never had an issue with anything we have had. YUM!
Best Chinese I've had in a long time! Always quick! – I eat a lot of chinese food and Hot Wok has the best dumplings! Their fried wontons are great too! I like the egg drop soup, wonton soup, there are HUGE portions when you order a menu item. Their kung pao is excellent! Their delivery is quick and HOT!
Average Chinese Food – I've been several times for the service and the value. Go several times before to figure out what you like and don't like. For me, other than the crab rangoon, none of the food is exceptionally good here. The fried rice is a tad bit too oily for my taste. Children's menu is a good value and tasty. Avoid all desserts - freezer burn taste. Decor is minimalistic, but two TV's are present. Staff is friendly and responsive. Cost - Cheap. Food - Average. Service - Excellent. Ambience - think Motel 6. Good luck!
Once was enough – We went for dinner, not lunch. The food was below average for Chinese food. This was our first and last time. But there was a steady stream of people coming for take out. So either the take out food is better or we have different tastes than everyone else.
Great Lunch – Not the typical Chinese menu where everything tastes the same with a different sauce, I have eaten here for the past couple of years, they deliver to our office and everyone really likes it. I also think its a great value.
Great place for lunch – I eat lunch at Hot Wok Cafe regularly because it has a good value lunch special menu and the food is very flavorous and plentiful. The staff is very friendly and service is excellent. I would recommend it as a regular stop in Frisco for lunches.
