The China Sun Buffet was remodeled in the spring/summer of 2008. It has a beautful atmosphere that includes a large saltwater fish tank as well as a 12' waterfall with a Koi pond that is very impressive. The seating, tables, walls, ceilings are all beautiful. There is no Chinese restaurant in town that compares. This is the place to go.
Every visit my family is warmly welcomed by the manager and/or owner. The selection of food is substantial. They have a nice Sushi bar included in the buffet price staffed by a Japanese-trained Sushi chef. By the way, they have happy hour with $1 beers every day from 2pm to 5pm. There is a wonderful selection of Dim Sum as well as three soups to choose from. They generally serve king crab legs in the evening that lately, are the best I have ever eaten at a buffet. There are several dishes of kids fare as well as a nice fresh fruit and salad bar. I usually count at least six shrimp dishes and there is a nice blend of fried, steamed, spicy, and mild foods to suit everyone's tastes. The desert bar is the most impressive feature of the restaurant. There are 3 gormet ice creams with a selection of toppings, soft serve, brownies, apple strudle, doughnuts, REAL cheese cake, etc.
The conference room is quite huge and well-appointed with a large flat-screen monitor. The room can be easily re-arranged with tables or chairs and is easily darkened for presentations. It is much more convenient to hold meetings at the China Sun than other restaurants that I have used Black Bear, Greg's Grill) because your clients/associates can get their food right away without the interference of a wait staff.
The buffet price is very conservative. There are discounts for kids based on age. You WILL NOT walk away from your dining experience feeling unsatisfied. This restaurant presents and excellent value for diners of all ages and is clean and new with a staff that seems to genuinely care about your experince on their watch.
Lovely place, Great food, Awesome People, and Best Prices. I love China Sun Buffet! I go there at least 3 times a week. They are very family oriented. newly remodeled with everything from a waterfall to the coy fish. The only Buffet with FRESH Sushi everyday! If you love Chinese food you'll love ChinaSun Buffet!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to the completion of the remodel. My wife and I moved here from Maryland several years ago and were supprised that China Sun is the the only East-Coast style buttet in town. We have been eating there at least once per week for the last few years and enjoy service from very genuine people and an array of food that is very good. They have been closed for two weeks to remodel starting 2/25/08. According to the owner, they are adding more buffet tables and brining in new dishes and fresher foods from more suppliers. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT FOR DINNER IN BEND OREGON IS CHINA SUN. WHILE THE CHINESE DISHES ARE ALWAYS EXPERTLY PREPARED, FRESH AND TASTY, BE SURE TO SAMPLE THEIR SUSHI AND MAKI. THE SALAD BAR HAS GREEN SALAD, FRESH FRUIT, PEEL & EAT SHRIMP & CRAB SALAD, JUST TO NAME A FEW.
THE HOT TABLES OFFER A LARGE VARIETY OF CHINESE STYLE CHICKEN, BEEF AND SEAFOOD. I LOVE THE HONEY WALNUT PRAWNS! THEY ALSO HAVE HOT CRAB LEGS AND DRAWN BUTTER.
THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND CATER TO YOUR NEEDS. ALL OF THIS FOR $11.00! SENIORS GET ONE DOLLAR OFF.
