I am so disappointed in Ann Taylor Loft. I have shopped a Loft for so many years and I have never had a bad experience until now.
Three weeks ago I purchased several items from a sale they were having. I was waiting and waiting for my order until finally I received an email from their customer care saying there was some "processing error" on their end and that my order was canceled. I was shocked! So I called them up and spoke to a guy who could not tell me what this "process error" was. A little disappointed the customer care guy did order me the items that were still left in stock and at the sale price from my original order. He also gave me next day shipping for free. Well I was still disappointed that I couldn't even get half of what I originally ordered because either my size was out of stock or the item was completely sold out.
Well I waited 4 days and I still did not get my items that were suppose to be next day delivery!!!! I just called customer care again and the lady I spoke to told me there was ANOTHER "processing error" and that my order was CANCELED AGAIN!!!!! She could not tell me what this infamous "processing error" was. She asked me if I wanted to reorder again and I said are you kidding me! Can you guarantee me that my order will not be canceled? She could not. She didn't even really seem to care. And when I told her Loft has lost a customer because of this she didn't care at all.
So so so disappointed in Ann Taylor Loft!!!
TERRIBLE Customer Service – I called to make a purchase over the phone at 8:30 PM, asking them to honor a coupon that expired 6:00 PM (it came in my personal email earlier today, which I just checked after finishing up work).
They not only did not honor the coupon, but the girl said that she checked with her manager and they cannot make a purchase over the phone. I worked in retail for 8 years. I not only frequently completed sales transactions over the phone, but I would honor sales that expired days before, never mind 90 minutes before.
I no longer work in retail, but I work long hours at the office and frequently make purchases over the telephone to various retail stores.
I don't believe the woman who said they cannot complete a sales transaction over the phone. If that is true, then I don't know which scenario is worse as far as customer services and business practice.
A more relaxed, affordable companion to the Ann Taylor boutiques. – In Short
The Loft offers a wide variety of business, casual and relaxed women?s apparel in contemporary materials. Shoppers can find great prices on items like nubby acrylic sweaters, stretchy cotton tops, smooth poly-acetate dresses, tweed skirts, silk blouses and velvet pants. The store also features bargains on leather and suede, plus a great petite selection. Off-the-rack specials are on-the-money finds, and the casual atmosphere encourages practical shopping and the occasional impulse buy.
Terrible Customer Service – I think this is the only Ann Taylor Loft where I was completely ignored. The salespeople spent most of their time sitting around and talking to each other instead of helping customers. I was trying something on in the fitting room, and I came out obviously looking for a different size- the salespeople actually just looked at me and didn't ask if I needed anything!!! I think I'll go to the Bellevue store from now on.
