Flavorful sauces, simple pasta dishes and fruity martinis keep a neighborhood crowd hungry for this cozy Lincoln Park Italian restaurant. – The Scene
A tiny front bar crowds in the late-20s/early-30s set of Lincoln Parkers sipping fruity and chocolate-based martinis. Beyond the bar, warm yellow walls and crisp white tables make the dining area feel cozy, while nooks that can be closed off by curtains create secluded spots for intimate conversation. Attentive and friendly servers and bartenders readily offer menu recommendations.
A trip to this Italian-American restaurant would be wasted without trying appetizers such as crab cakes swimming in a creamy mustard sauce or tender scallops with portabellos accented by a garlicky tomato basil sauce. Pastas like rigatoni ricare, topped with pancetta and tomato sauce, deliver a spicy, bold flavor, while other dishes, like the gnocchi topped with spinach, keep it simple. Other entrees include pan-roasted tilapia, braised lamb and lasagna bolognese. Order the ultra-rich chocolate-chip creme brulee for a sweet, creamy end to the meal.
Best martinis in town, delicious pasta, juicy steak, and friendly customer service. – This place is a must if you love martinis. Even if you don't like martinis, enjoy the wonderful food and the friendly service orchestrated by the beautiful owner, Sharon McGill. The specials each week are almost always tantalizing, and the everyday Italian dishes are simply delicious. Try the New York strip steak, my personal favourite. Hey, I'll see you at Sausalito.
Great neighborhood restaurant – I stopped by here this week and found a very pleasant spot for meeting friends and eating great food. The service was very pleasant and prompt; the meals were all wonderful. The lamb shank was so tender and mashed potatoes accompanying it were also good. The penne with meat sauce was also delicious. Portions were large and prices reasonable. It was a nice quiet place on a week night. Try it out!!!
Friendly Neiborhood Restaurant – I happened to stop by Sausalito the other night with a friend. I live in the area and have seen places come and go from this spot but this time they got it right. At Sausalito the decor is new and fresh in a warm gold with contemporary art printsbut thier biggest sellar is their friendly staff. You really feel welcome at this new restaurant. I even met the new owners because they came to my table and asked how things were going! The food is absoulutly delicious.
I recommend Sausalito as my new neighborhood stop.
