Famous in Florence – Several years ago, the Enquirer had a restaurant review in its Weekend magazine

titled : "There's a reason it's called Famous Dave's Legendary Pit Barbeque . . .

It's that good!" I totally agree! I've been a famous fan for over five years and

Famous Dave's is always one of my top three choices for going to a restaurant.

The restaurant claims to have won over 400 awards from national and regional

barbeque festivals for its various types of barbeque and sauces, including

ribs, chicken, burgers and beef brisket. They have super salads, grilled salmon and

corn muffins. Desserts include Hot Fudge Brownies, Key Lime Pie and Bread

Pudding with Praline Sauce . . . . awesome!

My family particularly enjoys the laid-back, down-home atmosphere. Take-out and

last minute catering are readily available.

Good Pulled pork, but expensive – Good meat with really good sauces. Problem is that they are very expensive. You will leave full though.

Famous Dave's recipes began as a hobby for Dave Anderson, who opened his first 'cue shack in Hayward, Wisc., in 1994. Now a national phenomenon, the restaurants cater to diners who dig into finger-licking-tasty meat. The menu features chopped pork, Texas brisket, baby back ribs and fire-kissed chicken slathered with signature sauces like vinegary Georgia Mustard. Entrees, some of which arrive atop a garbage can lid, come with corn on the cob, drunken apples, baked beans or slaw.
