Good Crowd, Good Music – I've been to the club a half dozen times and the crowd has always been good. A lot of guys cowboy'd up with their women ready to dance. The regulars get there early and clear out before midnight. Most of the single guys tend to line up by the front bar, beer in hand, while a handful of us work the floor looking for dance partners.

Being a single guy, it's been hit or miss there lately. On a good night I'll find 3 or 4 new dance partners. But there are nights (like tonight) when I've asked a dozen (of what appeared to be) single women to dance and gotten nothing. Nights like this i have to head elsewhere.

Like other reviewers have said, it is a smoker's haven. So if smoke bothers you, steer clear. If you do go, your clothes will likely go directly into the wash when you get home. If you can stand the smoke, it's worth checking out.

Great except for the smoke – Some one should tell the owners that smoking is not only illegal indoors in Houston but obsolete. Come on now it's 2011 and smoking is banned indoors but I suspect they found some loophole to allow it. So if your lungs can handle it and you can stand a smoke hangover the next morning I can't say anything else bad about the place.

Good floor, good mostly regular crowd. The college kids move in at around 11PM and have no idea how to dance. They stand in place and rock back and forth hoping to cop a feel from the females. The regular dancers usually quit and go home by this time. Parking is easy and plentyfull.

I usually go most Wednesdays to Big Texas but Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays I take the drive to Wild West where I can leave clean without having to take my cloths off on my front porch before walking into my home. Big Texas North I go only 2nd Saturday of each month for the dance offs. Too far and still too smokey.

There does not seem to be as many singles and available at Big Texas as I find in Wild West or especially Whiskey River. Big Texas has way more couples but still plenty of single ladies available waiting for a man to ask which they never do.

Best 2-stepin on South side but smoky – A fun place to go to dance both country and a bit of non-country. Early drink specials and cover charges. Wednesday is the drink special night and probably the best night out there, but Saturdays are fun, too.

The biggest con is that it is still a smoking inside establishment, and it does get smoky. With the smoke cloud, I find it better to make the drive into Houston on a weekend to do a little dancing. I enjoy the night better, dance more, smell better, and the guys smell so much better, and I feel better in the morning without that smoke.

It'll be a great place for the weekends when they make the inside smoke free or find a way to really s uck out all that smoke.

Wonderful club for over 30 – I went to Big Texas in Spring for the first time on 6-30-07 and I have to say that I had a wonderful time. I am over 30 and its hard to find a place that has as many beautiful ladies in there as it has. The number of ladies out numbered the men I would say 2-1 so guys get out there.

Clear Lake-area hangout for urban cowboys (and girls). – In Short
Despite the nondescript strip-mall exterior, it's "Always a big time at Big Texas!" With plenty of cacti, rustic wood and pioneer-town memorabilia, the unique decor provides ample visual entertainment (as if the roaming singles weren't enough). Ample booth seats and bar stools throughout. The dance floor fills up fast on weekends. A separate area with pool tables keeps the two-step challenged entertained, as does live music most Thursday nights.
