cute and cozy ristorante – this is one of my favorite places to go because one, the food is excellent. two, the ambiance is really cute and cozy, very much like a ristorante in little italy in NY. and three, you can bring your own wine (or alcohol) with no corkage fee! what more could one ask for other than a really good dinner date. =) they also have a "to die for" dessert called panne cote (sp??). this is definitely a must try kind of place.

It's a great find! – I tried three times but could not get a table. I finally made it today and could understand why this tiny Italian kitchen is always full. Food was of similar quality of that in high end ristorantes. Minestrone soup, liguinie with shrimps and diced tomatoes, tiramisu, cappuchino... all were delicous. Service was also very professional and friendly. Prices are pretty much in line with those in West Hollywood although it's just a family-run restaurant with minimal decoration. After all, it's a very pleasant experience. Bear in mind, the BYO policy (no corkage fee) is definitely an advantage!

Sometimes smaller is better... – Tiny Italian tucked away in Larchmont Village. Has a quiet neighborhood feel (a rare find in LA). Chicken and veal dishes are extremely tender, with light flavorful sauces (the Marsala and Limone stand out). Pastas are very fresh. Spinach gnocchi and pumpkin ravioli come with their signature sauce of butter and sage. Deliciously fresh soups, usually pumpkin, asparagus, or mushroom, are a great way to start. Or, if you are a fan of beef carpaccio, the thinly sliced Breasola is to die for. The owner is very nice and can usually be seen waiting for his dinner, prepared by the chef, who is conveniantly his wife. We all should be this lucky. Good luck finding it, meanwhile, but it's definately worth it.

Cute plate, ordinary food, tiny portions – This place is cute & neighborhoody, but the food just didn't stand out. Also, my portion (ravioli) was tiny. Maybe there are superstar dishes here...might try it again, might not.

Un-L.A. - a good thing! – How refreshing to find a great little neighborhood spot in L.A., where restaurants tend to be more about glitz than charm. Girasole is romantic, well-priced, and the food was delicious and unique. Veal marsala is the tastiest I've ever had. But bring your own wine!

great food, great everything – This tiny little place has amazing food with a great fresh feel.

Last we went (for my birthday dinner) my girlfriend had the chicken and it was very well cooked. Juicy and tasty.

Both their hazel nut and the Penna Cotta deserts very great too; served with fresh fruit.

It's a small place, so be sure to make reservations (and be on time) or you'll have to wait. The prices are very reasonable; we ended up with just below $200 for five people.

They don't serve alcohol, but you are free to bring your own wine and they don't charge a corkage fee. In the evenings there is easy to find free parking on the street and in the lot just next to the restaurant.

Being a small family owned place, they are closed Sundays and Mondays.

Tiny Place With Big Taste – My wife and and I stumbled upon Girasole while looking for a small, Italian restaurant for dinner. We found a "food" mine, which has quickly become our favorite restaurant, the go-to place for special occasions. The service is wonderful, with friendly waiters. The food is always delicious.

The only drawback is that Girasole does not have a beer/wine license. But never fear, there is a small wine store next door with a large selection and no corkage fee. It is a great icebreaker for a first date.
