Good coffee, good food, good service. – Their pannini selection is very good. I bought a tomatoe mozzarella sandwhich that was toasted and very tasty. Their salad, soup and sandwhich lunch combos are convenient when you can't just pick one thing to get. Pricing is about right for this location while serving size is on the generous side.
The atmosphere was nice but it took a while for the table next to me to be cleaned. They have upstairs seating in the back which I understand can be used for parties. The space gets noisy during lunch hour, but that's because the place gets a lot of traffic.
Cappuccino is pretty good; the foam a bit airy. Dessert is so-so except for their tiramisu which is flavorful.
Not worth it at all – My mother and I went because of a coupon. The reviews here were good, so we went to lunch before broardway mantinee. There were no open tables so the server and bus set one right away and gave us menus...and then didn't come back for 5-10 minutes. The menu had plenty of choices, which was fine. But the number of flies buzzing around the tables and landing on the wall next to us was repulsive. January is not fly season. (I work in a restaurant...flies should only be a problem in July and August). The waiter finally came over, only after I caught his eye. Our panini sandwiches came unaccompanied with anything else...not even a pickle for the $11 each one cost. The panini's themselves were great, but the acclaimed coffee was not phenomenal. I would go elsewhere or ask for a fly swatter.
Avoid dirty ! – This restaurant is dirty I sow how the staff cleans the silver, and the counters are dirty. the service is very rude, there is a waitress is very rude and sometimes she put faces or is in a bad attitude if you don't order as she wants. The food is good, but you have to wait ... They think is a five star service, but is not. The prizes for the food are high because you can eat a sandwich for 10 dollars filled with ??? cheese and ham... the only good thing is the tiramisu.
No Better Coffee on Earth – Go to their site + read about their coffee and you will understand why it is by far the BEST coffee on earth!! Served black it has the texture of milk and the true taste of coffee flowing in your mouth. It is heaven.
The restaurant itself is pristine in its decor, food, and service. The ingredients for their delicious salads, sandwiches, soups, egg dishes, pastas, desserts, and gelatos are fresh or imported from Italy -- of the highest quality!! Excellent for any meal either to go or to eat in. friendly staff, too. great location across from Bryant Park, too!!
An OASIS on 5th Avenue! Great food at reasonable prices! – When I first entered Crestanello, it was so beautifully designed and CLEAN I thought for sure that a cup of coffee would be at least $10! I was very wrong - you order at a counter and then find your own table, which I guess keeps costs down.
The food selections all looked very fresh, my boyfriend had a shrimp salad that was a medium size for only $8.50 - it would have been a value at double the price. I had a cup of tea for $1.75 that was fresh loose tea brewed in an individual diffuser that I then poured into a beautiful glass tea cup - keep in mind that when you usually order tea, you get a random tea bag in a plain ceramic cup for the same price at other restaurants.
The atmosphere is quiet (keep in mind that a very busy/noisy 5th ave is outside the door), serene, with very well designed interior decor and furniture.
This restaurant is an independant, and I LOVE the fact that an indepedant can do such a better job than a chain. This place PROVES that it is possible to have a beautiful restaurant that does
not charge outrageous overinflated prices for food & drink...(yes, I'm looking at you, Carnegie Deli). I will be back the next timeI'm in NYC. This is located across the street from the NY Public Library.
Fantastic – The chocolate almond croissants are really good here.. as well as the cappuccinos. The decor is nice and inviting; you feel like youre in a local place in Italy.
Editorial Review – Espresso drinks, pastries, pastas, panini sandwiches, wines and more across from the New York City Public Library; takeout and delivery available.
I like that Italian! – Crestanello has a new chef with daily specials that are absolutely delicious. The elegant atmosphere and friendly service make you enjoy your dining experience. The prices are reasonable and the portions generous. Can't say enough about this wonderful place.
