High prices and very bad service. It would have been cheaper to go somewhere else with no insurance then to go there with insurance... After 7 different contacts the prescription still isn't right. 2-3 weeks to get an appointment. Don't waste your time.
Wow! Amazing eye health exam. – I trust no other doctors with my childs eyes. The Draisin Vision Group provides a thorough eye health exam and they offer testing for children that is beyond the scope of most local optometrists. The frame selection is amazing with great frame designs that I haven't seen anywhere else. My 8-year-olds frames have held up amazingly well and they are comfortable enough for him to keep wearing them! I also get my son's swim goggles and sunglasses they both have UV protection.
Beware of this fraudulent business – We had a bad feeling from Draisin from the beginning. The high costs from testing, the inappropriate behavior from Diane, the vision therapy head, and the insurance fiasco. They are billing us over a year later for balance billing, which is illegal. My insurance says that I do not owe them money, but they sent us a bill for $1500, even after my insurance company paid them.. They are participating providers in my insurance so should abide by their contracts, but they continue to practice illegal billing because Bridgette doesn't know her job. I have had to hire an attorney, and will be reporting them to the Attorney General, the Insurance Commissioner, and the BBB. They are crooks!
Poor Business Practices – Nice, new place with lots of bells and whistles, and the people are friendly. Too bad they charge extra to use all the bells and whistles, which you don't really need for a good eye exam. And they don't bother to tell you about ALL the charges when you call them to ask how much an exam and contacts will cost. A follow-up visit for contacts costs an extra $165, which in my case was adjusted to $85 (even though I was originally told it was a $35 charge that I payed during the initial visit).
draisin ripoff group – I recently moved and was lookin for a new optometrist. Unfortunately I walked into Draisin Vision in West Ashley. The staff was great and really nice, however this place is a complete rip off. I went in for an annual eye exam and paid for it. My co-pay for an exam is 10$. Hoever I ended up spending an additional 105 dollars out of pocket. They told me I had to go through a test called corneal topography, which I later found that this is optional. I didnt find out that it was an additional 35$ out of pocket until after. When I came back to pick up my contact lenses they hit me with another charge of 70$ for what they call a "fitting fee" that wasnt covered by insurance which I had not been informed of upfront either. I never faced these charges with any of my previous optometrists offices.
