AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Decided to check this place out and ignore the bad reviews about the horrible service. BIG MISTAKE!. This place has the WORST bartenders of any establishment I have ever been to. Our blonde bartender took forever to take our order, and was the most unfriendly person I have come across in the foodservice industry. Very nasty indeed. We were so appalled and taken aback by this chicks horrible attitude, we left the place after our first order, not even bothering to take one sip from our drinks. Of course the icing on the cake was when we were walking out after this initial interaction and this blonde bartender called my wife a C**T! Not just whispered it under her breathe either, but yelled it after us as we were walking out. Because of this disgusting behavior a few of us asked to see the manager to complain but he didn't seem to care much. Must be sleeping with her or something, although I can't fathom why (lets just say her vile attitude was a perfect match for her exterior appearance). Bottom line, wIth the addition of the light rail and tons of other bars competing for your business don't bother wasting your time/money with this place when their are plenty of other FRIENDLY places that will actually appreciate the business you're bringing them and refrain from insulting their customers.

Mentally Scarred – Yesterday I was trying to kill some time before going to pick up my boyfriend from work. I remembered George and Dragon was near by so I drove over. When I got there I went inside but the atmosphere was different then I remember it to be. I asked the bartender if this was George and dragons anymore and she said no. Someone else had taken over and they would be changing the name soon. I ordered a bloody mary.. When the bartender gave me the drink I was hungry so I ate the olives which tasted like there was some kind of mucuosy texter on them. I then lifted the straw from the drink and to my horror there was a huge amount of white mucus like gunk that was in my drink. I tell the bartender who says "oh put that down ill make you another". I told her no just give me my money back, she swiped my card again and said the transaction was cancelled. Yet the charge showed up on line today when I checked. I would never go to this place again and urge others not to go either. I really cant put into words the disgust I still feel for whatever it was that was in my drink. I used to be a bartender, and I would have known if there was something like that in my patrons drink. It was to large to not see, this place is gross.

Not the greatest location. – I have to say that I do like this pub, they have the kind of beer that I like on tap. The fish and chips were not anything special, it's just average. If it wasn't for the location of this place I would have added an extra star. They have pool tables, and darts, I love to play darts when i'm drinking.

NOT A REAL ENGLISH PUB!!! – Cheap yuckey mexican food, out of every beer I really wanted, the crowd belonged in"DA HOOD" and the help was laughable. This is not an english pub, this is not a pub this is MEL'S DINER! Where did they come up with English Pub? It sits next to a hotel, DENNY'S style, and is no better. Mabey worse. WOW it dosen't get any more fake!!!

not as bad as some say... – I've been going to the G&D on 48th Street since they opened. Sure, not the best location, and the crowd, while not "da hood" is not a Scottsdale crowd... mostly blue collar neighborhood type. If you want more of an English Pub experience, go during the day... especially Sunday when they have special Sunday menu items. Don't go on DJ night... not the best.

They do have a number of great beers on tap, though I only drink Guinness. The servers go from hot to freaky to just average. I have had quite a few things on their menu, some, like the Chicken Pie, is great, Pasties are OK and Shepherds Pie is fine. I don't like to portions on the Fish and Chips but taste-wise they are fine. If you like your food English, get the Bangers and Mash and grab the HP Sauce.

What sort of English Pub was this? – Just do yourself a favor and don't go. There is nothing to gain by dining at this hotel bar. There is nothing English about it. The food takes forever and comes out cold, the beer on the other hand comes out warm. There are no brits. in the place to speak of and the carpet smells.

This Place Is Rubbish – What can I say other than what and awful experience this was. The food was cold, undercooked and flavorless. The so called "GREAT BEER SELECTION" featured 24 FLAT & WARM beers on tap. The service was terrible, there wasn't a BRIT in the place & the owner hadn't a clue. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! This is no English Pub, just a greasey spoon.

Miserable excuse for an E – We went to G&D tonight and found out they were out of some things: Scotch eggs, Branston pickle and DINNER ROLLS. They offered us free dessert... but then they were out of custard! What kind of English restaurant has no Branston pickle or custard. What a joke! We'll not be going back any time soon.
