Wow, huge pain/cost to cancel. – I went in to sign the form to cancel my gym membership. The employee behind the counter informed me that I would be billed for the current month and the following month. I explained that I felt this was bad business due to the fact that I was billed only two days before I was canceling and that I would rather not have to pay for an additional month, furthermore I did not remember being briefed on this policy when I joined, I asked to see a copy of my contract which they could not produce. He offered to have the owner call once he was done with a session. Later when he finally did call he was extremely rude right from the onset of the call. And he basically said there was nothing I or he could do. This whole experience left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I definitely don not recommend this gym.
westcoast fitness – I still havn't sorted it out yet!!!! I tried to close my membership out about 6 monthes ago or so and I called to ask what to do. The gal. told me I had to come in and sign a paper. So I tell her I am on my way and when I get there she tells me I cannot close my account because she doesn't know how. But convienantly she can offer me a better rate to stay. Well I take it and now another six monthes later after canceling my cards because they were stolen in my vehicle. They call me to tell me that I owe them money. I still have to go in and cancel, and no one is there STILL that can do it for me. I guess I have to take a day off of work and loose lots of money to pay them so they don't sent me to collection!!! Go to a better place, they are sharks with smiles there!!!
Wow...shady business practices here. – I had been a member here for about a year. I hadn't been able to come in for over 4 months due to a change in my work schedule. It was no longer convenient for me. I wanted to pause my membership for another two months as I would be travelling extensively and was told that wasn't an option. So before the end of February I came in and signed their little white form saying I was cancelling. I even made a point to state to the two employees at the desk (both were nice, now I know why) that I was making sure I wouldn't get charged YET another month. HA! Guess what? CHARGED my card YET AGAIN! When I called to complain I was told it takes 30 days to work out of their system. Convenient. I described to the person on the phone the two people I talked to and told him I had told them I didn't want to be charged again either. He said that one of the guys was the OWNER!! NICE BUSINESS PRACTICE OWNER! Classy not to conveniently tell me that I would be charged regardless. What will you be telling me as an excuse next month?
