Consistent and delicious! – My fiance and I moved to Chicago almost two years ago - we happened upon Azha one evening after getting off of the Belmont stop and decided to take a chance. Not a month has gone by since that we have not eaten at or ordered takeout from Azha. The crab rangoon is absolutely delicious, not greasy like some other places we have tried. The sauce that comes with it is equally wonderful - we usually fight over the last drop! For entrees, our favorite is the old standby, Chicken Pad Thai, which never fails to delight. The portions are big and the flavors are consistent.
Also worth mentioning is the owner, who also waits the tables. He is a quiet, pleasant man who always tries to make sure you are completely satisfied. Since we've become regulars, he remembers our favorite dishes and always makes us feel at home. We've taken many out of town guests there for a casual lunch or dinner - and when they return to Chicago they always ask to come here! Four of us can eat at Azha for about $30 including appetizers. We bring our own alcohol and they do not charge a corkage fee.
Azha is a delight and highly recommended!
This tidy storefront cafe on bustling Belmont boasts budget-conscious Thai food in an inviting atmosphere. – The Scene
Across from the Belmont El stop, Azha is a prime spot for people-watching. The tiny space is spotless and inviting: Plants and terra cotta-colored walls add homey warmth, while jazzy music, soft lighting and wall-mounted fountains create a soothing atmosphere. Service is gracious and welcoming.
Standard Thai offerings are dressed up with decorative touches and pretty serving dishes, setting this place apart from nearby noodle houses. Fried fish cakes with delicately flavored dipping sauce are a wonderful start, as are crispy pot stickers. Pad Thai strikes a perfect balance between sweet and savory flavors; wide pad lad nar noodles in mild gravy are paired with crisp, fresh broccoli. Best ordered vegetarian or with chicken (beef is a bit chewy), the aromatic spicy Thai basil pops with color from crunchy red and yellow bell peppers. A short menu of desserts is available, but a tall glass of Thai iced coffee is a refreshing alternative.
Awesome Satay – I've been a big fan of thai food ever since my visit to Thailand and Azha has some of the best satay this side of the Pacific. The restaurant is very peaceful, nicely decorated and the staff was great. I'll definitely be back!
