Dissapointment – My husband and I ate at the sushi tables, not the hibachi grill. I ordered the teriyaki chicken, and it was so salty that I could not eat more than a few bites. My husband got the bento box meal, and his food was better. The sushi served as part of the box was not tasy at all. You could tell they were skimping on it. The best thing about the visit was the smoked salmon roll we ordered as an appetizer was great!

Overall though, we both said that we will not go back again. We like Miyako much better.

my favortie resteraunt – i love this resteraunt it is my favorite. you watch them make your food and you get a full course meal guaranteed to fill you up no matter who you are. it is so good. it is expensive but well worth it.

I took my boyfriend and his sister out for dinner that night. We sat at the hibachi table. They both ordered off the grill menu, and as for me, I ordered a teriyaki chicken bento box and a big plate of sushi for all of us to share. According to my guests, the food from the grill was rather tasty, although my boyfriend does prefer the dipping sauces from Nagasaki Inn. As for my bento box, it was rather disappointing. One of the reasons that I ordered a bento box is that the petite courses are usually served in an elegant lacquer box with compartments. But that night, my food came in a crude porcelain plate instead. The tempura that accompanied my meal was heavily battered, greasy, and soggy. A well-prepared tempura should be thinly battered, deep-fried lightly, and very crispy. The teriyaki chicken resembled a piece of boiled chicken breast with a mopping of teriyaki glaze. As for the sushi I ordered, it was equally as crude. The maki sushi (handrolled sushi) was sloppy and the sushi rice was a rather mushy I thought. The cut of fish on my nigiri sushi was not only thin but also badly trimmed and not fresh. That evening, the aesthetic of food presentation in Japanese cuisine was certainly absent. I can understand the restaurant crowd in Lexington on a Friday evening, but the service was exceptionally slow and orders were inaccurately executed.

I used to love and rave about Yamamoto?s delicious food, but that evening had put a bad taste in my mouth and not to mention the guests I treated. What happened? Should I give them another chance?
