Choose a Product and Dealer you can trust – I have been an Oreck customer for over the past 7 years. I have noticed the following about the ethics of this store.
They are not is business to deliver customer satisfaction.
They are in business "TO SELL PRODUCT" not fix a product if you are an existing customer.
The salesperson will cut you one deal and then next customer a different deal (just like a used car salesman)
If you bring your product in for repair, they will make it very painful (in time) to get it fixed. In a day off immediate fixes if I take a broken product into a repair center I want it fixed really fast. Not here.
They have zero automation even though they have a computer to print out invoices and keep your records. Other Oreck stores will not have this information. This makes it painful if you have a warranty question.
I asked the salesperson to call the other store and verify that date I purchased the product to see if I was under warrant. Since I have brought the machine in for repair 2 other times since I purchased it. Reluctantly they did, no such luck I was 2 months out of warranty. However the machine had spend about 2 months in the shop during that time, the other time in the closet.
The answer if It is out of warranty they will try to sell you a new machine with minimal discount.
I will not do business with a dealer that will not stand behind the products it sell and provide customer the service they deserve.
I used to think that by this dealer throwing my broken product in the garbage can for me as I carried my new machine out to my car was great. Not any longer enough not any.
No good service – Today our Oreck nearly caught fire and frightened my wife, but at the same time thankful that one of our granchildren was not using it at the time. The dealer offered to 'recycle' it for us. In other words, they would take it off our hands so they could use it for repair parts. We've had four Orecks, but never again. This could have been a very bad safety situation.
Service as good as its product – The owner, Ben, is very straightforward about his products. I bought a used air cleaner and after researching it online, went to his store to get the cleaner I needed and to get answers about taking it apart (which parts were user-serviceable and which weren't). He was honest with me about what was essential and what was optional and showed me how to take it apart. Now, several months later, I was able to purchase the part I now needed over the phone to be picked up by my husband. I had more questions and he was excellent. I recommend both the Oreck product and this particular dealer. Worth every cent.
Keepers of hygienic homes and hotel rooms turn to this purveyor of easy-to-tote cleaning equipment. – In Short
Perhaps best known for its popular "bowling ball vacuum" (a high-suction canister model that can lift a 16-pound bowling ball off the ground), this New Orleans-based company has been producing industrial-strength, yet lightweight, vacuum cleaners since the 1960s. The early Oreck models, designed to ease the heavy lifting of hotel housekeepers, were sold only commercially. Now, there are more than 440 domestic retail locations peddling the clean-living tools, which range from traditional upright cleaners to compact canisters, carpet steamers and air purifiers.
