Cool vibe, horrible service, mediocre sushi – The atmosphere is cool and it is full of beautiful people. If you are into seeing and being seen this is the place. If you are into good food and good service there has to be better places in AZ.

So, lets start at the beginning. Our reservation was for 6:15, at 6:30 we started asking about our table, we were told they were short-handed. At 7:00 we were seated. We ordered our drinks, appetizers and dinner at the same time because they were busy. As our sushi appetizer came out so did the sushi dinner someone ordered. When I asked why they would bring his dinner at the same time as the appetizers I was told that it was made by a different chef. After getting most of our appetizers (the rest never came) we started getting our entrees. When one of our party didn't get his I complained at was told that it was coming. After 10 minutes I complained to the manager and was told "sorry one of our grills is broken" but then he left and never came back. After another 15 minutes I complained the manager again and was told sorry again. I suggested he go in the kitchen himself, find something and take care of his customer. Again he disappeared. Finally the waiter went in and waited for the dish to be prepared, at total of 30 minutes later.

As a form of apology the manager offered us free dessert. Big deal. When it came we just let it sit. Finally the manager brought the bill himself with a substantial discount. It helped but they have a long way to go to restore our faith in them.

Too trendy, but still very good – Sapporo's is in a great location and is a beautiful space, with soaring ceilings and lovely bamboo floors. It's crowded and popular, and the food is genuinely excellent. The sushi is always fresh and well-presented, and the service is quick. Even the desserts are delicious, which is not something you can always count on at a sushi restaurant.

The only thing I don't like about it is that it's also a meat market, a see-and-be-seen sort of place full of noisy, plastic Scottsdale people flipping their overprocessed hair and Blackberry-ing each other across the table. That's usually kept to the front of the restaurant, however, and you can usually get a quiet table farther back in the restaurant where you can concentrate on the food and company.

Well worth it... – Went on Saturday happy hour is from 4 pm to 7p.m. Cheap eats, high quality food and signature martinis and sake selection. All drinks were half priced. Bartender, a girl, was on the ball, and made strong drinks. Very nice atmosphere from the outside in, even the bathrooms were appealing. Waitresses and hostess were some definite eye candy. Seemed to start getting busy around 6 p.m. The place doesn't have enough TV's and the TV's are situated high in the corner of the ceilings which are very high. A great place overall, best to go with somebody.

Great Hot Spot – The atmosphere is great, drinks are generous and the reverse happy hour prices make them a steal. We are heading back this weekend for the sushi which looked divine!

I love Sapporo! – This is the best and cheapest place in town for sushi (from 4 to 7 every day). Never been dissatisfied. The service is always great, the food always comes out quickly, and the quality of food is above par. Great place to people watch. I've brought my kids and it's never been a problem...they like the sushi just as much as I do!! Try the Las Vegas roll!!! YUMMY!

For Great Sushi and to be seen at! – Sapporo is a fun place to go and enjoy really good Sushi. They also serve Tepanyaki Style but, the Sushi is what you want. The selection is great, the freshness is better than anything in Phoenix I have had yet. The location does get crowded (It's the place with the fire towers outside on Scottsdale road) but that makes for an interesting evening of people watching. Every time I go, service is perfect and, I have been here MANY times.

The martini's they make have always been good but, the Komoto Dragons are killer!

We have taken our daughter so, yes you can bring kids but, you will have a better time if you go without the kids and bring a couple of friends.

Great food, Great Atmosphere, Great Service – Sapporo is an amazing restaurant with amazing food. They have an assortment of everything from Orange Chicken to exoctic foods such as Kobe beef. Sitting in this restaurnt gives the customer a feeling of warmth and excitement as the ambience is truly amazing. Do a cooking table (tepan yaki) and you will see one of the best cooking performances in the entire state.

Best Happy Hour Ever! – We went on a Saturday for happy hour after 10pm. The sushi and other Japanese food was well presented, well prepared and fresh. The drinks were top shelf and strong. THe decor is swanky with lots of good looking people. Best of all the bill was under a $100 for the 8 of us, not bad!
