What happened to the GYRO? – Okay! I tried Burrito Buggy for the first time last week! The people were nice and the service was good. It took a little longer than I had expected to get my order filled though. The price wasn't too bad either. I ordered a gyro plate and this is what I got: A large serving of the meat "placed on the side" and four little cute triangle slices of pita! Like what happened to the whole pita bread? There was some shredded lettuce with chopped up tomatoes on top....The "cucumber sauce" was thick and stiff and served in little cups. I have not tried their Burritos though....So I can't comment there....But I tell you "DON'T ORDER THE GYROS" even though its on the menu.
Fine, but not outstanding – Don't be prepared to eat there. It's a half a step below a greasy spoon inside, bar stools at half a bar to eat at. I went and was disappointed based on the reviews. It's an average burrito place, not very spicy, my girlfriends was actually bland. Not much selection of Hot sauce.
For traders and clerks at the Merc, these huge burritos are a hot commodity. – In Short
This eatery shares a space with Mike's Seafood Shack and draws scores of business types. Long, thick burritos include steak and jerk chicken varieties; vegetarians choose from meatless options, all of which include a choice of wheat or flour tortilla and three kinds of beans.
Suburbs have the best – This was not the best burrito I've had!! Maybe Chicago should come out here to compare. El Famous Burrito in Lombard is still # 1!! Clean, friendly and absolutely fresh and yum yum.
spectaculicious – I haven't lived in Chicago for the past 2 1/2 years, but to this day, I weep at the memory of the jerk veggie burrito with pinto beans on a wheat tortilla, with a side of the super-hot habanero sauce. The best burritos I've ever eaten in my life, with friendly service to boot. If you work anywhere nearby, you MUST experience this at least once.
