Horrible service, food merely adequate – I went with a few friends, and there were several parties waiting, and what appeared to be an honor system for who got the next available table. We had to go confront a couple that was attempting to take the table that was being cleaned for us, even though we had arrived a half hour before them. The service was SLOW and it was not that busy. After we finished eating, we waited ONE FULL HOUR for our check to come to the table, despite repeatedly trying to "flag down" a server. Then I had to get up twice to actually get someone's attention to pay. We were given tiny (4 oz.?) glasses for water, and they were never refilled. It was not too busy to expect decent service. A couple of servers were standing around the cash register, and another was sitting at a table folding napkins.
As for the food, it was adequate. Nothing special, but certainly not awful. I will not go here again and do not recommend it.
Amazing food, great dinning, and wonderful service – This restaurant is one for the books. It is a must, you have to make it for the great food, large drinks and all around fun atmosphere. I think that the service was prompt and readily available anytime you need. The chips and salsa are ones that you start and cannot stop eating. Hope that you try this pleasure of a restaurant, you won't regret it!
gotta love it – amazing mexican food! Nachos and quesadillas are my favorites however, people i have been with have had lots of the different menu items and loved all. no complaints from any of my co-sandoval-goers.
Wonderful!! – I've been here over 10 times and it has been amazing. The service is great and the food is even better. I highly recommend Sandoval's to anyone who is looking for a great meal.
Best mexican food and drink you can find in the NW!!!! – Everything here is wonderful. the service is great! the drinks are better and the food is to die for!! no better chili verde anywhere, and trust me, i frequently eat mexican cuisine in the portland area and have yet to find anything better. two words can describe Sandoval's "WOW, great!"
Horrible! – We went to the new West Linn location - great chips and salsa. Besides that, AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!!
For our $9 apiece Margaritas, we got mostly tequila mix. Chez Jose and Juan Colorado's are infinitely better. For our food, the refried beans were some grayish mush. They call a serving of sour cream some drizzled tasteless white substance over the top of your serving. For our service, we got a waitress (Trelawne) who thought she was doing us a favor serving us rather than the other way around. While we were in there, the smell of onions was so bad, I thought it would get into our hair and clothing. Since when do you sit in a restaurant and have it filled with the odor of onions? What's wrong with their ventilation? Then to top it all off, later that night, I got sick. Fresh food my foot! Baja Fresh puts them to shame. I don't usually write reviews, but this experience was so bad, I am trying to save your stomachs and your wallets. If you want quality Mexican food, drinks and service - Chez Jose for food and drinks; Juan Colorado for drinks. Be forewarned.
Don't bother.....go to TacoBell – Went to the new location in West Linn.
People were friendly, some of the servers ok.. ....Food not good.
In our opinion Sandoval's should stick to the food court in the airport where people are so tired and/or stressed that they don't care what they eat.
My husband and I had the wet burritos, mine veggie his chicken, tasted like something they put together out of the leftovers of other returned plates. And no condiments that were mentioned, such as guacamole were on them and we couldn't find cheese (or veggies in my case) in them
We were there at 5:45 on a Tues and they had run out of white wine of any sort to serve also. (so they had a pink to substitute that they charged $7.50 a glass for ...unbelievable but true)
TacoBell gets my vote!
We frequent this place – Great Mexican food. The service is always good and prompt. The food only takes a few minutes to be served, even when they are busy. They always keep you supplied with chips & salsa.
If this is 'authentic' mexican food ... then it is no wonder so many want to leave! – Lousy food, worse service. Beans and salsa out of a 50 gallon drum. The margaritas come from a cheap mix. Come on, you can go to a Taco Bell at one quarter the price and get better food.
Great big portions – This place has great big portions for thier burrito's and enchilada's. I would highly reccomend splitting an entree. The margarita's are great here as well.
