I've lived one block from Darcy's for 3 years now, and The breakfast is always way to greasy, The hash browns are undercooked, the Bacon over cooked, and if you lift the plate at one end within 5 seconds you've got a puddle of grease at the other, and the worst gravy ever! There burgers are far to lean & dry, the fried chicken and fish taste like card board. Honestly the only reason I was going in there was for the late night bar staff until they quit. Yesterday was the final straw after they asked me to leave after being there over 3 hours and only having coffee while writing a paper for school. The Fish wife, Twilight, Annex, and Moc Crest Tavern are all a short walk away and well worth the trip. and they don't look like a retired couple's living room in Arizona on the inside
Great Neighborhood hangout – Darcy's is a wonderful place to meet up with neighbors, have some great & inexpensive food.
The cooks are top rated! You wont find better in North Portland.
Darcy's: Bar food done right! – Recently had a vegetarian reuben sandwich. I never knew veggie food could taste so good! Also, the French Onion soup is incredible, should you be lucky enough to go there on the days they make it. I have had several dishes here and have yet to be disappointed. Why go to some place that charges an arm and a leg when you can have great food here? Burrito? Massive. Nachos? Spicy. Jalapeno Poppers? HOT! HOT! HOT! Just remember, it's a bar. Leave the kiddies at home. And don't expect great ambiance. It's great, inexpensive food, not a socialite's house of deigning. The one drawback: the big screen tuned to boring sports.
great eats – Darcys in my opinion is one of Portlands best kept secrets! Under new ownership, the new owners have changed the whole menu, what was once yuck is now awsome. A scratch kitchen with hand patted burgers, and a kick butt happy hour. The homeade soups are great, and the breakfast is even better. And the prices are cheap nothin gover $10 and you can play video poker while you wait in this very well air conditioned place. Nice place to cool off!
