Our very favorite Portland sushi spot – Ah, another fabulous dinner at Yuki & Song. Friendly, efficient service, great food, and very handsome sushi chef. We mainly eat sushi when we eat here. It's always fresh, beautiful, and tastes of the sea. We have become addicted to the Salmon Skin Hand Roll, be careful. My daughter has had a couple of the Korean dishes when she's gone with us and she says the meat dishes are also very good. Their menu is both vegetarian and carnivore friendly. The Kimchi is home-made, fresh weekly, delicious, and good for you! This is a family business, so not open 24/7. If you're not familiar, call for the hours (lunch & dinner). It's clean, pretty inside, nice bathroom. If you live in NE (think K-Mart), and like Korean food and/or sushi, my husband and I highly recommend Yuki & Song.
Cute place, sweet staff, good food! – I just discovered this place a few weeks ago, and now I go here for my lunch twice a week! The service is great - they are warm, but also don't bother you if you look like you're there to sneak away for a quiet meal. I eat a ton of sushi, and I can fill up there for between $12-18! The food isn't absolutely amazing or fancy; however, for a quick bite or a cheap lunch, it's unbeatable! Much better than sushi-go-round joints, but less pricey than my other favorite, Bamboo.
Family-owned, Amazing food – Nestled into a strip mall between a seven-11 and a hair salon, the outside of this traditional Japanese eatery just doesn’t do it justice.
To get it out of the way: the food here is great, and the prices are very reasonable for what you’re getting. If that was all it would still be a great little restaurant but combined w/ a pretty diverse menu of Japanese and Korean dishes, a mouthwatering sushi menu (their unagi and scallop are seriously the best I have had—period), very friendly service, and their fantastically valued lunch selections; they have kept me and my girlfriend going back week after week for over a year.
Standout recommendations have to be the amazing nabe udon (made from scratch w/ no MSG!), bul goki and beef teriyaki (their chicken teriyaki run a little dry for my tastes, but is still quality) and pretty much anything from their sushi selection, depending upon your tastes. From their cheaper ($6-$8) selection of sushi rolls I would have to steer anyone towards the Rainbow and Dragon rolls—both fantastic—and from their smaller selection of premium ($11-$13) rolls the Empire Deluxe is flat out amazing.
What can I say? This place is a great little find and anyone on the east side of the river should defiantly give it a try today.
