So Frustrating!!!. We love the sushi both here and at the sister restaurant in Smokey Point. Unfortunately both times we have been here, to the Everett Mall location, the service has been horrendous. Both times they have appeared to be understaffed. Last week there was one chef, one waitress, and one person in the back (washing dishes?). We were there on a Sunday evening, and there were probably 6 - 8 tables at any given time. The poor waitress was doing her best, but our meal took 3 times as long as it ought to, with long periods of waiting for her to come back by our table.

This is hugely disappointing because we we do love the quality, variety, and price of the sushi that they offer here. Perhaps we've simply had the bad luck to only try this place at times when they are unexpectedly understaffed?

Wow! I finally found the place!. This is the best sushi I've had in decades.

Better than the fanciest sushi bars I've been to in Vegas, LA and New York that charge double the price. So far I've been there six times (in two weeks), and every time, the fish has been very fresh and service has been very friendly. I love their rice which is always fresh and flavorful, and the chef makes some very creative rolls. Both presentation and taste are more impressive than some of the most expensive places I've been to. I can't say enough about this place.

Don't go here if you need a substitution!. My daughter has severe food allergies, so we must be choosy when we eat out. Sushi has been one food that we have eaten from Canada to Mexico without any accidental ingestion ofgluten or corn. We always just order her rolls with un-seasoned rice, raw veggies, and she does not use soy sauce. Easy, right? Well, at Tokyo House, the kind waitress told me no problem when I asked if they could accomodate my daughter's food restrictions. Our food came and looked delicious. My daughter took a bite, then said, "Mom, what is this that is sweet?" I looked, and realized something was not right. I flagged down the waitress, who quickly realized the mistake, and told me the ingredient in question was shitake mushroom with a soy sauce and sugar marinade. Unfortunately my daughter had already eaten some. She has Celiac disease, and even that tiny amount was going to make my daughter very ill, which I told the waitress.

The waitress asked me to wait a moment, and that she would have the chef make a new roll. What ensued was 10 minutes of him yelling at her in Japanese, and her looking sullen and hostile. She approached my table and said she was sorry, but they could not make a vegetable roll without mushroom. "Are you serious?" I asked. I had never had a situation like this before. She said "One moment" again, and headed back to the kitchen for more arguing.

We finally got our roll, ate quickly, and approached the counter to pay, and was shockingly handed a bill that included the roll they incorrectly made, as well as the new roll. I refused to pay for the roll they messed up on and they grudgingly took the charge off.

Three seriously tiny sushi rolls, a bowl of miso soup, and the smallest spoonful of seaweed salad I have ever eaten came to $35.00. Although the sushi was good, the prices were outrageous, and the chef is childish and egocentric. They're lucky I don't get a lawyer. Save your money and eat Misushu's in Wallingford instead for real Japanese cuisine on a dime.

You absolutely MUST try this place.... My boyfriend and I tried this place and have been going back ever since. It is the best we have found. We have tried other places but we keep coming back because nothing compares to this place. The atmosphere is very inviting. The sushi is consistently flavorful, fresh, beautiful presentation and SO DELICIOUS. The staff is so personal and attentive - very kind, indeed. Personally I can't get enough of this place. The dining area is cozy and really pretty furnished with beech wood and rice paper dividers.

Recommendations are to try the Spider roll, Alligator Roll, and the Chef's choice.

I just can't say enough nice things about Tokyo House!

Best Sushi, Great atmosphere, good customer service. Tokyo House has the best sushi around. I've been to many sushi bars around Puget Sound and this is the place I always return to. The fish is fresh, the chef makes it look too good to eat! There are other items on the menu that are cooked if the company you go with doesn't feel like sushi. There is a bar to sit at, not just tables. Clean and well kept. No sticky tables or dirty soy sauce plates here! Half of the time you go, the chef will give you a treat. The saki is great, miso soup is fantastic, and prices aren't too bad. For two adults, you can expect it to be about $40 after tip, and you leave full. They can get busy around dinner time and lunch but I've never had to wait more than 5 mins for seating. I LOVE THIS PLACE!

Poor hours-Very discouraged. After calling for their business hours we drove all the way down from Stanwood. When arriving at 9:35 (they close at 10pm) we were told they only serve take out from 9:30-10pm. There were about 8 people dinign. Even after explaining how we drove down after checking their hours we were told they were sorry. So what is the deal???, Sushi chefs need to be in bed by 11pm or something.

I have found that this Tokyo House (a sister store to the Arlington location)having the same menu serves significantly smaller portions for the same price.

Impressed. I was visiting Everett on a business trip, and I sushi often in Los Angeles, my home town. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with this quaint restaraunt. The dinner entrees are fine, nothing too exciting there. Don't get me wrong, they're still very good! But the nigiri sushi was surprisingly good.

Highly recommended!

Hands Down- THE BEST SUSHI. I've been to many many many sushi joints, and this hole in the wall on Everett Mall Way beats 'em all. I started coming here when Jae- one of the owners- was chef. (he is now at the fantastic Smokey Pt. location) Peter, the current chef is awesome. Ask him to make you a King Spicy tuna roll (not on the menu), and tell him Steve in Tacoma sent you. You'll be blown away by this incredible treat. (It's BIG too)

they have All you can eat specials occasionally too- and if your a regular- you will be WELL taken care of. (there hot food is all homemade and excellent as well- not made from buckets of nasty teriyaki sauce)

Jae and Peter, I miss you guys- the sushi isnt as good down here- But I'll be there every time I'm up that way...

Brilliant Cuisine. I've eaten literally dozens of pounds of raw fish over the years. Tokyo House is hands down the best I've ever had. Stray away from the typical choices of nigiri and the commonest rolls and try some of the specials. You will be rewarded with the freshest seafood on the planet, paired with sauces of artistic genius that prompt one to leave the wasabi behind. Colorful fireworks for the tongue. Peter is a sushi chef savant. Brilliant cuisine!
