Great place to workout. – Join LA Fitness, better equipment, more free classes, even yoga, cheaper, and if you travel more locations. Spend your money elsewhere, I did.

Hey UBF Friends... I moved out San Francisco and joined a 24 Hour Fitness because there is one by my house and one by the office - but it is no where near what UBF and UBS offer. I sure do miss the gym and my trainer in ATL tremendously. I'd have to pay twice the amount to join Equinox to get when I had at UBF.

Most Dysfunctional Business Ever – Ok, what do you call a business that MOVES more than a year ago and doesn't bother to update its new location on City Search? Urban Body Fitness is that slack.

After doing some research, and going to the wrong address, I finally made it to the new location on Amsterdam for a free trial.

On the plus side the newish gym is kinda nice. But, there are lots of things to gripe about. The staff is very friendly and will answer any question. Unfortuneately, if you talk to any other member or trainer you get the feel that the owner of this gym is mucho loco.

I tripped over a raised part of the floor and was told the owner himself poured concrete that made the floor uneven. Say what!

The hot water is usually not hot. The parking is a headache after 6pm. And don't even try to park in the back where they crammed a gazillion parking spaces into an area that is made only for compact cars. I literally could not get my SUV out of the parking spot until someone moved.

The equipment is OLD..but, there are nice new TV's to look at. Guess he thinks if you look at the TV you won't notice how old the equipment is.

I keep seeing the name RAD scrawled on things...I was told this was the owner who thinks he is GOD....

Yeah, this is not the place for me. I want a nice, clean gym that actually IS a gym. Not a snooty place with 'art' hanging all over the place.

See ya Urban Body.

Won't get the chance to try it... – I was excited about trying UBF, but it looks like I won't get the chance. I am one of the many people who purchased a Groupon for UBF. I tried to activate my Groupon on the last day, but I was rudely told by a staff member that the cutoff time was earlier that day. When I asked how people were notified of this information, the female I was speaking to didn't know. I spoke to Jose, the manager, and he rudely told me I could go to Groupon for help. When I told him I was going to tell everyone I know that UBF provided me with poor customer service he told me "people normally do that when they don't get their way". Poor management comes from the top down. If the manager feels this way, it means the staff will provide poor customer service. BTW - I contacted Groupon directly and they resolved my problem immediately. I don't need to visit the gym to confirm the bad reviews. They are over-priced and provide TERRIBLE customer service.

Can we say past it's prime? – Where to begin...

I was a member of this place since it opened years ago as PE Fitness and enjoyed coming here.

I moved away and recently came back to its incarnation of Urban Body Fitness.

Wow - what a difference.

The place is run down with the majority of the staff indifferent.

But , who can blame them. Just follow the owners rantings on the Urban Body Facebook page and you can see why.

He, who goes by the self-entitled name of RAD (really? are you in 4th grade Rad?) switches to a new billing/checkin system THEN asks members online how best to implement it?

Oh yeah, and he's moving the gym to a new space and wants to have a cocktail party in the middle of the freakin' holidays.

I hear everyone, from employees, to trainers to members talk about what a joke and jerk the owner is.

I turned in my cancellation already and am headed for a new gym.

It's sad..the place used to be top notch.

Great gym! – Yesterday the power went out at my office and I was able to leave and check out Urban body since my co-workers go there. One of the managers, Stephanie, showed me around and gave me details about joining. They will waive the sign up fee and you can also get classes next door at the Studio! I don't take Pilates or yoga but my girlfriend does. Definitely great staff and a relaxed environment!

Everything you need in a gym – When I go to a gym, I'm looking for two things, appropriate, quality equipment, and a clean, inviting environment. Urban Body provides both. This is a neighborhood gym, not a massive, flashy gym. If you need all the bells and whistles, seek elsewhere. The staff has always been up to par ? if you have a question, they can answer it, otherwise, they?ll leave you alone. Urban Body was immensely crowded, just like every other gym, at the beginning of this year, but now that the New Years Resolution crowd is starting to dissipate, things are thinning out. Urban Body is a tad overpriced, in my opinion. There is a ?boot camp? course in which the entire class jogs around the building. I am not sure why this is necessary but it is incredibly annoying ? the gym is not big enough for 15 people to do walking lunges or sprints. All in all, the good outweighs the bad, and I would highly recommend this gym to those looking for a local place to join..

You can do much better elsewhere – For a gym that charges about $500 a year for a membership, UBF is sorely lacking in amenites - basically offering a few racks of weights, a few wellworn machines, the usual handful of tired classes , limited hours, no steam/sauna, etc. It's basically a two story concrete space with weights upstairs and an overcrowded cardio space and teeny class studio space downstairs. . And customer service is the WORST, the female manager acts like she's too good to work at a gym. And forget about finding desk people at night - they're off doing side work like cleaning the place, Go elsewhere - you can do so much better for the $$$.

Still in the dark ages – I can't believe the male dominated attitude that exists at this gym! If you are a guy you get all kinds of attention but for the female customers you can forget it. Totally sexist.

Not worth it – Joined for one month and already turned in my cancellation. The gym is in an older building that is constantly being repaired. Seems everyday something is blocked off and unusable because it's broken or leaking. I wanted to speak to a manager about my billing on the weekend and there are no managers on the weekends! Must be nice to have that job. Yes, I was told I could email but what happened to one on one customer service. The parking is a DISASTER. Just sorry I joined in the first place.
