Best NYC electrolysis and hair removal.
I found Lynne's Electrolysis Studio on the internet after reading some reviews. I started goingto her at the begiing of the year and have been very happy with the friendly nature and professionalism offered by Lynne. The studio is very clean and in a great location.
Lynne's method is very gentle. I was worried at first that I may cry like a little baby ... but she explained everything very slowly and made me feel comfortable. When the sessions began I was very happy and continue to be happy everytime I get to see her!
Give her a try and you will not be upset.
Alter your expectations & Lynne is Amazing!!.
I am giving Lynne 5 stars because she really is absolutely great at what she does! She is very thorough in her explanations and the hair removal. Her rates are extremely fair and her hours are flexible. Its a shame more electrolysis salons did not practice the type that Lynne does. I had gone to a number of people over the years and they only made my face red and the issue worse. With Lynne you see immediate and highly effective results. I felt so taken care of!!!
However, Lynne does blur the professional line. She likes to talk and does ask personal questions. I know she means well (!!!) and will completely respect any boundaries you set, but you will need to be the one to draw the line. At least she isn't the type of person to only ask and never share. If you let her, she will divulge her personal details as well. Sometimes she has a difficult time tucking her own bad days aside. I know when things are not right because I can sense it when I walk in. But don't we all let these days get to us?
If you are expecting a salon, don't. The part that continues to irk me is her constant clutter: mail and papers all over the place. Although it makes me twitch and I simply can't understand why she can't keep a public-professional place in order, her skills, honesty, and extremely warm personality are not worth walking away from because of this.
I'm being honest here to guide your expectations, but I still give Lynne 5 stars for the results of her services!
Caring and Effective and the best deal in town!. I cannot recommend Lynne more highly. I moved to New York from LA and thought that I had been going to the best electrolysist ever. I was terrified to find someone new that would be as caring and that would get rid of my hairs without burning or scarring me. Now I know that Lynne is actually the best! This is the most painless electrolysis I have ever received -- I still cannot believe that I am able to get through weekly half-hour sessions with no problem. I cannot recommend Lynne more highly. The only explanation for the last review is that Lynne must have been having a really terrible day. She is very nice and caring and really understands what she is doing. I am so happy with my progress and am only sad that I am moving back to California and have to leave Lynne soon. If you have unwanted hair don't walk, run to Lynne!
Starts off good then quickly turns unproffesional. I like a few other people who have written reviews felt good about Lynne on my first visit. By the third it was obvious something was wrong. I also found it completely out of line the personal questions she would ask and her phone conversations I was subjected to hear while laying on the table. She is certainly unstable emotionally and will "flip out" easily and actually swore at me. Plenty of other electrolysis professionals who value their customers time and privacy.
Finally some results!. I have been to 5 other electrologists in the past 25 months. Two of which made horrible scabs and bumps and marks on my skin. Another three which were much more expensive and less efficient/effective. Finally I'm seeing results with Lynne. Finally someone isn't burning my skin. Finally I'm not spending days trying to treat and cover up my damaged skin. My only regret is that I did not find Lynne first! I wasted so much time and money on the others. I'm very appreciative for what she's done for me. She's honest about her work and her prices and that is truly refreshing!!!!
Not Sure What to Make of Things.
Lynne started our series of sessions by being utterly professional. Eventually, as the sessions became less new, she began to ask a lot of personal questions and shared a lot of her life as well. I didn't mind that given the nature of the work. I did mind the occasional appointments where she had some issue she was working through, and I'd inadvertently wind up used as a target.
Recently, Lynne went missing from appointments and thereafter became inexplicably unavailable. Since she wasn't returning phone calls, there was no way to know what was going on. The first time it happened, I accepted the circumstances; this last round, it's clear something is wrong. I've also noticed in spite of telling her very specifically and repeatedly what hair I wanted removed, Lynne removed the hair she thought should be removed. This unilateral decision has left me with what looks like facial discoloration. I'm now forced to either live with it - or find another electrologist and commit to more painful - and expensive - treatments than I've budgeted for. All this while the original site, the one I went to Lynne for and paid to have cleared, remains unfinished.
I am not happy.
Fabulous experience - professional service and effective treatment!. I went to Lynne's Electrolysis in desperation. I was getting hairs where women don't want hairs as a result of treatment for endometriosis. I was embarrassed to even tell my closest friends about it and forget about dating! Lynne made me feel incredibly comfortable the minute I walked in the door. She thoroughly explained how the process works and what I could expect. Her treatments didn't leave any marks (except beautiful, smooth skin!) and has made me a different person! I HIGHLY recommend going to Lynne's Electrolysis for any and all hair removal! Thank you so very much, Lynne!

Lynne is the best electrolygist in New York City, NO QUESTION. Forget that she is professional, reasonably-priced and absolutely immaculate. Forget that she knows the science behind her techniques, something that most electrolygists only vaguely grasp. Forget that she is warm, personable and attentive to the individual needs of her clients and that she'll just as soon squeeze in an appointment to zap a monster zit as she will to take out a stray hair that nags.
The important thing to remember about Lynne is that she wants you to "graduate." She will say this to you upon your very first visit. Electrolysis is a permanent process and by definition it should eradicate hair forever, eliminating your need for eternal sessions if the job is done correctly. Lynne is the ONLY electrologist who has ever emphasized this point (and I have been to many sub-par specialists who were content to pluck prematurely with no end in sight). Her enthusiasm in providing permanent results is genuine and in my ten (!) years of experience as a client of hair removal services, I have never been nearly as pleased as I am with the outcome of Lynne's treatment.
You won't be disappointed, but you will eventually be sans mustache.

When I started going to Lynne I had been shaving and tweezing my face for over 10 years. Now I can leave my house without tweezers and wearing makeup. I can't describe this feeling other than to say I now have FREEDOM. I have the confidence to go on dates and have people actually touch my face. This is the best I have felt in years. The weight has been lifted... Thanks Lynne, NO ONE else took the time to describle to me what is was going to take to get rid of this hair. You were as dedicated to the process as I was. You're encouragement was unbelievable. I'll miss you!
By the way, my skin looks incredible too.
Lynn's Electrolysis...terrible experience. I went to Lynn for a while just because I hadn't found anyone else. I have found someone GREAT now and I can't believe the difference. Lynn is good at what she does and takes her job seriously, BUT don't even think about being late to an appointment she will flip out. Also, plan to sit in the waiting room from time to time and not have any attitude about it. Her prices are higher than what I pay now and I get better more caring service now with someone who doesn't mind going a few minutes beyond the time buzzer. Lynn WILL take personal calls during your treatment and may or may not forget to stop the timer. At almost 2 dollars a minute, well...Also, she charges extra fees if you pay with your credit card. I don't even know if she takes checks. Cancellations are a big NO NO and she will ask you a lot of personal questions and give you unwanted advice. I am so thankful I found someone new. Sorry for the brutal honesty.
