Delicious Polynesian / Filipino food – Its a very cozy place. Little baskets and artifacts on the walls and the ceiling make it a fun, casually romantic atmosphere. The food is very good. I do love dishes with pork, and there are several of those. There are hot and spicy items, and also very tropical sweet dishes served with rice. Good prices and good food describe this place. Even my boss and co-workers knew about this place when I told them about it! The employees don't disrupt your conversations, but rather let you keep the conversations going with whomever you are with.
Best Filipino food in SLC – Try the appetizer combo plate, and the coconut shrimp. It's difficult to order anything here that you will not like. But, you will NOT get the full taste of this restaurant from the rather small lunch buffet. Pleasant, very friendly atmosphere.
Nothing else matters – I personaly have lived in 5 different states, one being california. San diego to be exact. If anyone has ever lived in San diego then you know about the diversity of the food and people. San diego has about 90 different dialects spoken there, and as many different restuarants to go with.
Boondocks has some of the best food I have ever eaten.(period) The owner is refeshingly nice and curtious, the restuarant itself looks like a menagerie of plants and pictures. Overall I love this restuarant and go about 2 or 3 times a month. The prices cant be beat and it's definitley worth the trip.
A happy place where ethnic dishes are well prepared, satisfying and extremely reasonable in price. – The Scene
A very friendly person behind the counter will take your order, and once you've paid and taken a number, your meal will be brought to your table. With brightly colored walls, glass-covered, flowered tablecloths and plants, this small cafe is comfortable and homey.
In addition to the regular menu, you can request an extensive Filipino menu of a la carte items. The abbreviated menu features complete meals--all served with noodles or rice and egg or spring rolls. Try the tender pork or chicken satay, marinated in spices and an Asian barbecue sauce, then grilled and served with a sweet and sour sauce. Not to be missed is the chicken and pork adobo--the national dish of the Philippines--cooked in a spicy broth with potatoes and vegetables. Equally flavorful are the coconut macadamia nut-crusted shrimp. Vegetarians can select from vegetable satay or a stir-fried vegetarian tofu plate.
