being arrogant – They will select randomly at the door to whom they don/t like and say "we don/t want to serve you liqueur at this time", since they think they are the best in town? f..k you, you are just being arrogant about your position and using your legal rights, I asked the police just across the street and he said they could deny anybody to enter their premises, ok, I said to myself, we are the guys who are making you succeed in this business, and fi you do not appreciate it, you are doomed to not succeed in this business, period,
A uniquely woodsy downtown place to escape the world. – The Scene
Unlike many of the self-conscious, goofy neighbors around Division Street, its lacquered wood and hunting lodge concept is comforting more than obnoxious. There are some elbow-high tables and stools around the perimeter, but whenever possible, belly up to the carved oak bar for baskets of Winchester peanuts. There are around 20 beers on tap, including Tetley's, Foster's and Harp.
While you won't find too many youngsters, especially during the day, there's often a wide array of customers downing drinks. The atmosphere and the music (generally alt-rock) grow louder on weekend nights, but never get oppressive. There's a solid contingent of regulars, but the staff is equally friendly and inviting to all, making this a dangerous place to go to sometimes: You may never want to leave.
great atmosphere – this bars is a great place to take your friends for a drink and talk. tired of the bar scene this bar releave so of that tension. plus if you enjoy the oldied played on an old jukebox play old 45's this is the place for you
A Chicago Classic – The Lodge has been around for something like 30 years and is amazingly tucked into Division Street - probably the most uninteresting area in Chicago. But, this bar is and will always be my favorite - the juke box cranks out oldies that all the drunks belt out late at night. It's almost always packed and believe it or not, you'll probably see tons of celebrities and athletes hanging out. I love the peanuts and the atmosphere. It's a late closer - awesome!
It's like a secret jewel.
