Great Food, Great Atmoshpere, Good Prices, Good Experience – I was taken here by a friend and just totally impressed with the decor and the cleanliness and the way the room is set up. It's so open and cheerful. It's a perfect place to go with a friend or on a date. It's casual and dressy at the same time. It's just pefect. The food is really amazing and they have nice cocktails. I go back whenever I can. Yummers is the soup.
No flavor food – The initial impression seemed very promising. The wait staff was nice and we were promptly seated. They had a ton of choices on their menu and my partner and I decide to order a bunch of appetizers. I think that's where we went wrong. Everything on the menu seem interesting until you actually got the food and tasted it. Talk about disappointment. The seafood soup was hot but it didn't have any flavor. They had some nice seafood in there: shrimp, squid, and two tiny crab claws but it wasn't worth it. The chicken satay came out nicely on the skewers but tasted a bit chewy. The beef appetizer was the real surprise. It turned out to be simply dressed-up beef jerky, with two small scoops of sticky rice. I'm not kidding you here. It's literally beef jerky with Sriracha hot sauce for dipping. We ordered a few other dishes but nothing stood out as great or close to good. For a mid-tier restaurant, it was disappointing. There are plenty of Thai restaurants out there that have better food and I'll be bringing my business there.
Good food and nice ambiance – Had a weeknight dinner here with a friend and it was yummy! The service was great--food came quickly and waiters kept refilling our water glasses. We had the two soups--really yummy but keep in mind the coconut milk "soup" is almost like a dish in itself so it fills you up! I got the pumpkin chicken curry (red curry) which was delicious and we also ordered the asparagus with prawns, which was a good "green" thing to add. The place has a nice trendy feel, and it was very clean. The bathroom has fun things on the wall... Definitely recommend it.
Fairly Good Thai At A Fairly Good Price – I have eaten lunch here and found the Thai food to be pretty good with a nice price to match. The only negative is that it gets pretty busy for lunch during the week and the place can get extremely loud.
Absolutely the best Thai in SF! – I love this place. The food is amazing and the place is happening too. The salad with the beef is to die for. The beef tastes like super top notch quality and I should know being from Nebraska. Everything else is really good too. Love this place and its sister restaurant in N. Beach but this one is better I think.
Great little place – Being a fan of Citizen Thai, we tried this out since it's much closer to us, and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, and the server was extremely friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be returning!
Can't miss this place if you like Thai food. – I was having dinner at the restaurant last Sunday with my wife and had a very pleasant experience, the atmosphere was relaxing, the decor very Thai and beautiful and the food is very delicious. I was also impressed by the service, our waitress was very polite, friendly and unobtrusive, I will definitely be going back.
Pretty Darn Good – I thought this place was very good. I had the pumpkin/ck curry and it was awesome! I also had the spring rolls, beef satay, and the ck/mushroom soup. My fiance didn't like his dish though (some shrimp dish.) I tasted it, and it was a little bland. I guess it depends on what you get. But yes, I would say that everything that I ordered was great and I would definatley recommend it.
Not all it's cracked up to be – I've tried this restaurant several times, always hoping that it would live up to its reputation. It still hasn't, and we've stopped trying. The food is mediocre at best -- and we've tried everything from the old standbys to the niche cuisine that they call their specialties. The curries aren't bad, but the real problem comes with the price: each curry is $13 while a plate of two, tough, rubbery chicken satay skewers is $7. Skip this overly-trendy spot and get some good Thai food elsewhere
STOP – Stop before you head out your front door to this restaurant. If you don't you will find appetizers that stick to your hands and teeth. The fried corn cakes were made of overcooked tough corn mixed with a blob of sticky fried batter. The pad thai, a simple dish was so over the top orange that food dye must have been in one of the ingredients because it definately was not chili pepper because it was tasteless. Now for the best part of our dinner was the chicken and vegetable curry that tasted as if the cook must have intentionally not washed the vegtables because it tasted like dirt- Dirt Curry. Perhaps the restaurant is going for a niche market- yucky food made by people who could care less for people who care less about what they eat.
