Response to Strawberry 2327!! – I have been going to this salon since 1999 and have had nothing but professional and friendly service from what I consider to be the best salon in the Hampton Roads area. i have never witnessed what you described!! If your intent is to put down this wonderful family owned and operated facility you have failed. All the clients who frequent Mary's Nail-Tique are faithful and loyal and know the quality of this salon. All the ladies there ALWAYS do everything they can to please the clients and deliver a quality, actually superior service. As we all know there are those who make problems just to make problems, for example: "strawberry2327"
Excellent Services and Atmosphere – I've been to several different nail salons and this is the best one I've found. Unlike most places, Mary's doesn't have that strong smell of chemicals. The staff are all very friendly and competent. I find that it has a very relaxing atmosphere. I am always pleased with the pedicures I get there. There may be other places you could pay less but the other places feel more like an assembly line. I find Mary's very relaxing. I would highly recommend the salon to others.
Response to strawberry2327 – Dear strawberry2327. We certainly do not remember you and your group of girl friends. Our shop and our technicians are fully well trained and licensed. If we were as you have written in your review, we would not survive servicing Virginia Beach at Laskin shore since 2006.
If your intent is to defame us, please cease. It it not nice at all of what you are doing.
Warning! – I went there with a group of girl friend's of mine a couple weeks ago for a spa day and we have never had such a worst experience before. We each decided to just get some pedicures (winter really does dry one's feet out :)) and I promptly had my feet placed in scalding water. I was then talked down to for not being able to tolerate the heat of the water...
Also, one of my friend's had surgery a while back for an in-grown toe nail on her big toe. She asked that the lady please leave that one toe alone. The pedicurist (?) seemed to argue with her about even getting a pedicure, that there are standards to follow and avoiding one toe is not part of the process...Really?
Finally, when they were done painting my nails the lady asked me to check to make sure I liked it. I saw that I had a part of nail sticking out from the buffing, so the polish did not coat properly. When I asked if she could re-do that one nail she said it looked fine. I refuted. She said my nail must have scarring so nail polish won't coat properly anyway...what? I always try to get a pedicure with my girls at least once a month. The buffer they are supposed to smooth out the nail but nope, the lady practically refused to remove the coat, buff out the irregularity and re-do the polish I requested.
For the price, I will not be going back.
