Best salon in Charlotte! Love it! – I recently had had my hair cut and styled by Andrea @ Urban Bliss and my experience was great from start to finish! I am one of those girls with curly hair that loves to wear it straight. Finding a cut that flatters can be tough but now my hair looks awesome both ways! The staff was fun and friendly yet they took their jobs seriously. They recommended some killer Bumble & Bumble products and my hair has never looked better! Keep up the good work!
Love this place!! – I came to this salon after reading about it in the Observer. I was very impressed and received excellent service and a great hairstyle and color. I have difficult hair and have not been happy since moving from NYC to Charlotte. I used to get my hair cut at Bumble and bumble in the city and haven't found anyone since moving here till now! What a relief they carry my favorite products and do an awesome job for 1/2 the price I pd in NY.
I highly recommend Urban Bliss they are by far the best salon I've found in Charlotte!
I ALWAYS get hair compliments! – I have my hair done at Urban Bliss Salon and it has never looked better! I get compliments daily and have NO reservations sending anyone there! Jennifer B. does my hair and really listens to what I want. She has helped me grow out a short wedge from last year when I had only requested a trim elsewhere. The stylists always appear to be running on time and I think the prices are extremely fair. My only concern is that sometimes the parking is a little tight and depending on the time of day, I need to circle the lot for a space. If you're looking for a new salon with great products and friendly staff, this is the place!
I am shocked this place is still in business – Gals,
Don't be taken in; there are much better places to get ones hair done in Charlotte, NC and for a lot less; both on the cost of services and the level of B.S. one might endure. I confirmed the cost of cut/highlights/style only to have them pull and old fashioned 'bait and switch' on me when I paid and charged me nearly 25% more. Unbelievable. Even the little chickie at the desk thought my reaction was really funny and broke out laughing when I declined another appointment, saying "I didn't think you would but I had to ask". WTF!!!??? The owner[?] who did the work admitted AFTER she finished the job, that she had no idea how to work with 'hair like' mine, and that she 'did the best she could.' Worse, I had to sit there and listen as she droned on about how much she hated and wished death upon her ex-boyfriend/hubby [someone????]. My advice: save your money, do some research and find a real stylist that you can develop a relationship with. If need be, ask someone whose style you like where they got it done. I would be willing to guess it wasn't at Urban Bliss.
Great Customer Service and Great work. – I have been many places to get my hair done, I have hair past the shoulders length, dark hair and came here to get a cut and Dye. The color looked great and shiny, a darker chocolate brown. The cut, the owner did with bangs, which I've never had - it looks so great - i trusted her to pick somethigng to fit my face and hair type and she did such a great job. And I hate feeling rushed - she took her time and made sure that I liked the color and cut before sending me on my way. Everyone was so nice and it's not that expensive at all for the service and quality of service that they offer. Again I've been to my share of hair salons - in diff. cities too - and I love love love Urban Bliss and will be sending all my girlfriends there. :o)
Cutting edge color... no pun intended – I have incredibly thick hair and find it challenging to find a salon that can tackle my mane. Urban Bliss's stylists have done an amazing job not only taming my wavy, thick hair but have given me a stylish, yet easy to maintain cut. They have also been very helpful with recommending products for my hair without being salesy or pushy to purchase.
My colorist at Urban Bliss is fabulous and extremely talented. She really listened to what i was looking for and gave me amazing chunky highlights. I am stopped repeatedly when i am out and about by women asking where i get my hair colored/styled.
I have found their prices to be very reasonable for the quality of cut/color/service that i receive. The staff is professional and courteous and never mind taking the extra time needed to blow-out my thick hair.
Staff Outstanding – This is a salon that listens to what you want and helps you to understand what works with your hair, your facial structure and your own individual needs. There is not a better staff or salon in Charlotte. I travel hours just to go to this salon. Need I say more?!?!?!?
Overpriced and Stuck Up – First of all I scheduled an appointment with the Owner for a cut and color for Saturday at 12:30. She called me back the day before my appointment and asked to reschedule to 10:30. Even though it was inconvenient for me I agreed since it seemed like she was in a pinch. On Saturday, I was running about 10 minutes late so I called ahead to let her know. When I arrived, I was not greeted with a smile but told that because I was 20 minutes late (even though it was only 15) she would not have time to color my hair because they work in 30 minute intervals (???) and she would only have time to cut. I went ahead and got my hair cut, then she had her assistant dry my hair. So I go to pay and the charge is $60! I guess since they raised the rates since the lightrail is operating now. I am not sure why I bothered to give a 15% tip but I did and went on my way.
Okay, I made an appointment for a cut and highlights and was told I could only get a haircut upon arrival. Who sets aside only 30 minutes for all that? On top of it my bangs are uneven. On top of my bangs being uneven, My hair now is all frayed because of the "texturizing" that was done. I think a professional stylist, especially one who charges $60 a cut should recognize what type of hair (fine, thin) does not do well with texturizing. It frayed all my ends and looks horrible.
