Well technically she is ok, but personally she needs more compassion for the physically challenged. Her office is in her home, on a hill. I have an illness that makes my leg muscles exceptionally weak and I use a rollator to assist me to walk. I struggled to maintain my balance as I got out the car because her driveway is on a hill, fought with my rollator that kept trying to roll down her drive way, then had to carry it in one hand and walk up eight steps holding onto the rail with the other. Guess who was standing in her warm cozy office looking out her window as I struggled to walk up the steps holding a rollator. When she opened the door I told her this is my first and last time coming here. She responded "you should have asked about the accommodations, even some buildings have steps, I would have come to you had you asked". Most people just naturally pick up the rollator and carry it up the steps for me out of brotherly love and compassion. So I will be looking for another doctor, because she just enhanced my knowledge and I do not feel I got $200 worth knowledge and anybody without simple compassion does not need to receive more money from me.
My time with Dr. Abernathy was fantastic. She was fully focused and engaged during our appointment. She was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable, and warm. She worked with me to tailor a treatment for me... which was indeed successful! Many thanks!
I have the utmost respect for Dr. Abernathy. Her extensive knowledge of natural medicine and her sincere desire to help people heal was obvious from my first meeting with her, where she listened to my problems like a friend and then gave advice as a medical professional. She keeps up to date with the latest medical research, follows up with me after a visit, and is willing to work with my irregular schedule. I definitely recommend Dr. Abernathy to anyone who wants a holistic approach to their healthcare.
I have been a patient of Dr. Crystal Abernathy since April of 2004. I initially met with Dr. Abernathy as a follow-up to my treatment for breast cancer. After seeing a variety of specialists associated with my treatment for cancer, it has been very beneficial to consult with a naturopathic doctor who takes a holistic approach to my care. I have continued to see Dr. Abernathy to improve my overall health and have been grateful for the excellent care she has provided. I have found her to be consistently thorough, knowledgeable, and professional.
I became a patient of Dr. Crystal Abernathy after extensive research of naturopathic medicine and naturopathic doctors. I found her to be quite knowledgeable in her field; however, the way she talked to be and treated me was extremely harsh and offputting. When I brought my concerns to her attention, she continued to email me rather than calling me to discuss the issues and attempt to resolve them. Ultimately, she blamed the problems on me. I wish I had been important enough as a patient for her to call and talk to me. I requested my medical records, which I have a legal right to according to HIPAA. It has been over three weeks, and I have yet to receive them.
