I'm sorry you did not receive the quality care, service, and treatment we work hard to provide our patients. It appears the concerns you raise have to do with Dr. Byers and her staff, which unfortunately has negatively affected us. I actually took over MedCosmetic in June 2012. Since then, my staff and I have worked hard at improving our ratings, which has been successful thus far. It's unfortunate the reviews here reflect what took place prior.
I have to say there are many complexities here that relate to your experience as well as your friend's, which I don't feel we can properly address online. However, we would appreciate the opportunity to do whatever is reasonable to make this right for you and your friend if you're willing to visit and speak with us. Every patient matters, so we hope to hear from you soon.

I am truly sorry you did not get the quality care or service you deserved when you came in for your treatment in 2011. I actually took over MedCosmetic in June 2012 from Dr. Marti Byers and changed the practice to Mirabile M.D. Beauty, Health & Wellness, which has received excellent reviews. It's unfortunate the reviews here reflect what took place previously and I'm paying for mistakes made prior to my involvement with MedCosmetic.
However, I can assure you since we have made major changes in this practice, we have many happy patients, and I would like to make you one as well. I cannot undo the negative experience that took place prior to my arrival, but I hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with the quality care, procedures, and service you deserve.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention because it let's us know we have done a lot to improve this practice, and we will continue to do so. We wish you peace, goodwill, and the best of luck with your care
Wonderful new facility and terrific customer service. Botox price can't be beat and Jessica is hands down the best I've ever had! New facility and new management makes it the best place to be treated around!
Very pleased with this place – I think its fair to point out that one of the reviews here was apparently written by Dr. Marti Beyers herself so I'm not sure how objective she can be regarding laser hair removal since MedCosmetic is esentially her practice, but , I have been to MedCosmetic on five seperate ocassions for Botox and juviderm injections and I have been super impressed every time.
Dr. Beyers has taken the time to thoroughly discuss each treatment I've received and has done a great deal to alleviate my fears about having needles and botulism shoved in my face :-). I like her a lot! I have been to three different physicians to have Botox in the KC area and she is by far the absolute best.
The front desk has always been super professional, friendly and helpful. When they say they'll e-mail you something, they do. They're very top notch that way. I'd highly recommend!
HydraFacial--Highly recommend – I had this new HydraFacial done last week. It cleaned up all my pores, removed all of those pesky blackheads and hydrated my skin, the aesthetician really knew her stuff. I was soo pleased! Several of my friends commented on how great my skin looks! I highly recommend getting this done :)
laser hair removal is awesome – I did laser hair removal on my underarms and bikini last spring. I had 5 treatments. I have no dark scratchy hair! I don't need to shave so my "get ready time" is faster in the morning. I'm so excited, I'm going to do my legs as soon as my summer tan fades. I've been to other places and the machines didn't work and they hurt a lot more. I'm so glad I found a place that really works!!
Don't Bother With MedCosmetic! – First of all, a friend of mine had laser hair removal in Feb. 2011. She ended up with bright red spots all over her arms! her appt had been on a Thur or Fri. She called MedCos over the weekend and had to page dr. buyers. Told her about the spots and Dr. Buyers was not concerned. Told her to leave it alone and it would eventually go away. So she went into the office the following Monday. By that time, they had figured out that the laser was broken and BURNED several patients! they told her to put aloe on it or something like that, and that it would go away in 6 weeks. And they said the next treatment for the affected areas would be free. That's it. She felt that she deserved a lot more of an apology than that, but she decided to take what she could get out of the ordeal and cash in on the free treatments. At the next appt., she first had to meet with Dr. Buyers. This was mostly just for CYA purposes. No real apology or compensation was offered. Dr. buyers did not mention that this treatment would be free (it was the aestician that offered it in the first place). dr Buyers even siad that there was no way they could have known it was broken so she doesn't feel bad about it. To top it off, they DID try to charge her for the entire treatment! After what they put her through! they should have been happy to have a customer return after that and bend over backwards to make sure she knows how much they appreciate her business!
Around the same time, I was having several small areas done (bikini, upper lip/chin, etc.). My first round of treatment was done by Emma. She was great and was very thorough! For my next appt, i could not get in with Emma so I went to someone else. I do not recall her name. She was blond and maybe was pregnant at that time. This girl did a horrible horrible job on all 3 areas! She missed several patches on each area! I could understand if it was the legs, but I'm talking about underarms, bikini area, and chin! Over the next several weeks, it was extremely frustrating that I still had to shave as often as before because of the patches! Also, my bikini area was not even at all! Complete waste of money. I would go back and complain, but since they didn't care about my friends FIRST DEGREE BURNS, i didn't really think they'd care about my "patches" either! so we both go elsewhere now! Sad that Dr. Mirabile is associated with that place, because I love him! Hopefully he will either get out of it, or take a more hands-on role!
Beware! – In June of 2009 I went in for a laser hair removal treatment. The technician 'forgot' I had a tattoo and hit it with the laser causing a burn after we just discussed how bad it would be to hit a tattoo with a laser. The burn became an open wound which in turn ruined the tattoo. What did MedCosmetics do? Nothing. No refund of visit, no refund of costs associate with doctor's visit and no offer to pay for removal of tattoo if it could not be fixed. Lots of empty, 'so sorry this happened'. A true test of any one or any business is how you are treated during difficult times. MedCosmetics gets an 'F'.
