DISAPPOINTING AT BEST – Disappointing. I have been to Morton's before, and know it is very expensive, but I go for special dining occasions for the excellent service and top notch food. I have had plenty of meals at the other top tier steak houses as well, an average of about once a month for this type of “event dining”.

Our party of 6 arrived 30 minutes before our 7pm reservation. No parking anywhere, no valet service. Had to park on the other side of the mall and walk on 20 degree night. No one to greet you at the door. We gathered at the bar, where it was busy, but not unusually so (maybe 30 people in the bar area). Had to beg for a server to take our drink order like we were at some all-you-can-drink happy hour. Then had to get up and hunt down the server to get a second round. Hardly a way to start a special Christmas dinner. Drinks very good, expensive as expected (4 beers, 6 cocktails = $100).

We were told our table was ready, so we got up and stood in the narrow hallway for about 5 uncomfortable minutes while the hostess summarily ignored us. Eventually were seated, where we sat without menus or a server for another 10 minutes being totally forgotten by the wait staff. Up again, to hunt down a server, who handed us a wine list but no menus. When the server finally returned and I asked for menus, he first showed us the featured cuts of steak as well as a beautiful 3-1/2 pound lobster. Very professional presentation, blended with a bit of humor. Nice. Gave us menus, came back in timely manner to take our order. Ordered a few baked desserts at the same time as our steaks. We all ordered appetizers and steaks except my wife who ordered the lobster. The waiter ran away from the table to “save the last lobster” for her. Really? It’s the holiday season and you’re running out live lobster?

Appetizers were good and the shrimp in the shrimp cocktail were enormous. Just as we were expecting our entrees, the manager came to our table to tell my wife that the lobster, apparently the one who had spend his final evening out of the water (and not refrigerated) being paraded around on the meat tray, did not come out well. His solution was to serve the claws and substitute a lobster tail. My wife said that would be fine. The wait staff then proceeded to serve our entire party, except my wife. Unforgivable. There she sat for the next five minutes, uncomfortably trying to convince us all to eat without her (which we didn’t do) while we watched our steaks grow cold. Exasperated, I got up and hunted down the manager who was at that moment plating the claw. Sort of. He delivered to my wife a dish of chopped up lobster chunks unceremoniously dumped on a plate. We started eating. My “well marbled” ribeye was just plain fatty. The hashbrowns were crispy but diner greasy. The creamed spinach was luke warm at best. The lobster tail was served, looking lonely on an ungarnished plate. Dishes cleared in timely manner. Coffee ordered and delivered swiftly. Dessert was served, two of the “signature dishes”. Good, not great.

When the waiter brought the bill he proudly announced that they did not charge for the lobster claw, just the tail. Again, “Really?”. As expected, dinner for six, with drinks and tips, was just under $1000. In this stratosphere of dining, I expect impeccable service, and was sorely disappointed. I would be hard pressed to recommend Morton’s to anyone else, and cannot see myself making another trip back.

USDA prime beef, elegant tableside service and mammoth martinis. – In Short
With its dark wood details, celebrity photos and tuxedo-clad waiters, this upscale steakhouse chain has the air of a posh men's club. Service is professional and discreet, with bartenders making a mean martini. Dinners begin with a waiter-driven cart laden with fresh vegetables, live lobster and cuts of steak; customers choose from porterhouse, rib-eye, bone-in prime rib and more. Side dishes are traditional and enormous, from baked potatoes and creamed spinach to steamed broccoli with hollandaise.

Would significantly lower expectations before eating here – I ordered a New York Strip, medium. It came out charred. I am not the person who complains or sends it back even in smaller restaurants. But this was inedible. I expected a bit more from Morton's, but still things can happen. I informed the Maitre de, who promised to get it remade as soon as he could. My date had completed her meal by then. Then came the second steak. It was as bloody as can be. I could not believe Morton's could not get a steak that Applebee's or TGI Friday's can, twice. My date was getting impatient and I was losing interest. I cancelled my steak, despite the Maitre de's assurance that three minutes was all was required. Then we received the check. He brought out the bill for $100, charging me for everything except my steak including the sides that I did not complete. Wow!! I never went to bed hungry and paid $ 100 for one person (my date). Taco Bell would have done a much better job for $10.00. I am appalled at the quality of folks working there. It almost seemed like the Maitre de took my cancellation as a personal offence. He was very polite outwardly but seemed a bit irritated when I cancelled my order after two bad attempts. He even had the audacity to come tell me at the table that he had personally taken the charge for the steak off my bill - like I am stupid enough to pay for food I did not eat. The problem is that it is situated in king of prussia mall and restaurant is filled with mall crowd. I guess the chef must be too busy to mess things up twice or maybe it was just my luck. I am sure Morton's will be much better outside the mall, but the king of prussia morton's, I will definitely not recommend.

Best experience! – I took a group of clients to Morton's in KOP recently, and I have to say it was a great experience- we sat in one of their private rooms, and were treated like royalty. The food and service were excellent, and the added bonus of having a private room made the experince a memorable one. Definitely recommended- I will definitely return.

great steakhouse – I went to Morton's for the 1st time recently and was very impressed. I had the porterhouse steak and it was awesome and cooked to order. the side dishes were good also. esp the mashed potatoes and mushrooms.

the service was impeccable. and overall I was a very satisfied customer. You always wonder about the corporate chains and whether or not they can live up to the hype/standards that are set at their other locations. Morton's did. and as a result I will dine there again."
