terrible – My husband and I have gone to Juliana's a couple times. The most recent was an awful experience. My husband ordered the steak of the day special, a ribeye. He has always ordered his steak Medium and never had a problem at other places. When the steak came out is was blood red rare, so he sent it back when it came out again it was still blood rare, sent back again, by this time I was 3/4 done with my OK meal of risotto with 3 shrimp and 2 scallops for $20.00 . The 3rd time it came out it was still blood red, and we were told medium that we want would be medium well here ..... My husband was upset and just said forget it, rather than eating a 4 time warmed over meal, we ordered dessert and chaulked it up to everyone has bad days and the cook was having one . Dessert was good
When the bill came the waiter also had a to go box with him??? and asked if we want to take the steak home with us !!!!! We said no and looked at the bill OMG, we were charged $26.00 for the steak, and were told that they took off the 12.00 for desserts because of the issue with the steak. I explained that I did not think that was right and would gladly pay for the desserts since we enjoyed them, and were told this is what the OWNER said to do. We paid it just because I do not believe in making a scene, but will be contacting BBB. I cannot believe that places like this remain in business
Excellent Food with A Flair – We really enjoyed our experience at this clean, cozy restaurant. The seafood dish I tried was excellent, with a tasty, spicey red sauce and my fiance's filet mignon was the best either of us have experienced anywhere.
The service was efficient and friendly and Carl, the chef / owner came by our table to make sure we were happy with our dinner.
First rate all the way!
Terrible Experience – BI purchased a gift certificate from Groupon for $40. There was absolutely no information on this gift certificate that mandated it's use for the dinner service, however when I arrived today at lunch they refused to honor it. As such, my party and I walked out. Now, not only have they lost my current and future business but also that of the other's in my party. One of my guests is currently in the process of exchanging the two gift certificates she's holding. It's a shame they would rather lose business (considering the small dining area was FAR from full) than honor the gift certificates they sold.
I do not recommend it! e conversational: Write as if relaying your experience to a good friend.
Be thorough: Mention your favorite products or services offered by this business, such as menu items, home delivery or spa treatments.
Be local: Identify the neighborhood where the business is located and mention nearby attractions when relevant.
Let down – It was cozy and inviting from the outside looking in; however it is a different story once you are seated and take a real look around. The floor was extremely dirty with bread crumbs and whatever old "food" that had been served recently, along with dust on the wall panels, and glasses and silverware with "food" stuck to them. The waiter was friendly but the food was late and extremely salty and overseasoned; possibly to cover up a "fishy" taste of the tilapia that may have been going bad. It was too expensive for the value I received- I will not return. In addition, something had been done incorrectly by the server in the restaurant and the owner reprimanded the employee in front of me and my wife- highly unprofessional.
Hidden Treasure in Orlando – I have been patronizing Julianna's for years and even had my wedding reception there. The food - from the bread to the salads to the appetizers (try the bruscetta!) to the main courses are phenomenal. My husband has a hard time choosing between the steak and the rigatoni. I LOVE the "Kat special" - fish w/ white beans and a light tomato sauce. You will literally want to lick the bowl clean. Everything is delicious. I've actually had to purchase a pint of his marinara sauce to go - it is just that good. My husband is from new york and knows true italian. As we used to eat out constantly, this is the only place he'll eat italian. Now that we're on a budget we still go there because the prices are reasonable, just not as often as we'd like. The service has always been above what we've expected. The owners are super friendly and come to the tables to welcome their guests. I also discovered they donate much of their food to local events - such as Day in the Park - so people can taste w/out paying. They also have tables outside to dine but w/ a big window view and a mock fireplace to set in front of, it's all good. If you're here for just one day, a tourist or a local, you need to patronize this place. It's a family friendly (not stuffy or pretentious). Upscale food at reasonable prices. They do not advertise a lot that I have found and yet it is so good, it is a true hidden treasure in Orlando.
Surprising lunchtime experience – 8/27/08: I went to Juliana's for the first time today. It was approx. 11:50 when I arrived for lunch alone. I was the first patron in the restaurant for lunch. My waitress, I do not recall her name, greeted me very kindly & asked me where I would prefer to sit and suggested by the window. I took her suggestion and as I walked towards the window seats I asked which table. She said it was up to me, that I can choose and she would follow me. I thought this was pleasant and not at all offensive considering that I was the FIRST person there. She wanted me to be comfortable because I obviously was dining alone. After I was seated the waitress walked away with my drink order. Within sight & earshot I heard "the owner" rudely exlaim to the waitress that she should'nt have had me choose my own seat, that it was improper, he was in the business a long time & knew better. The waitress, obviously surprised, responded that she too was in the business a long time & dropped the subject. When she came to take my order she apologized for the scene, she had only been there a week. I told her it was not a problem but that I thought it was very unprofessional that the owner would make such a scene in front of a patron like he did. Especially for something so trivial. After she served my food to me & brought my check. I wrote a note to her telling her to be patient & good luck because if I were her I would've went to the kitchen & told him off for making a scene in front of a patron. As I was leaving she said goodbye to me & told me she had been fired. I handed her a great tip & the note as she left. Thankfully I paid the tip in cash. I will never return to Juliana's. I was later told this is how he treats all of his employees & why he is always short handed. NOTE TO THE OWNER: You are a pompous jacka$$ & I will tell all about the experience I had at your wanna-be upscale restaurant. You lost a potential steady customer because of your ignorance.
Favorite Restaurant – My wife and I have been going to Juliana's for some time now and find the restaurant to be excellent. Both Juliana and husband/chef, Carl, to be perfect hosts. The food and service are always great, the waiters polite and efficient.
We have recommended Juliana's to friends, relatives, etc., and have taken guests several times.
The ease of parking, service, familiarity as patrons, is wonderful.

long time customer speaks up – My family and I have been customers for many years. We have had countless lunches and dinners at Juliana's and have never been dissapointed. I would estimate that we have eaten their well over 50 times without ever an issue. Yes sometimes the bread is served late but Carl makes it himself. I would rather have bread arrive at my table a few minutes late that is fresh then right when i sat down that comes from some supplier. They are also very family friendly which may surprise people thinking of a college park resturaunt. What people need to take into consideration when reading reviews is that everyone can have a bad day. Maybe when reading these reviews we need to take into consideration what may have been happening outside the control of the resturaunt. Our family over the years have come to think of Carl and Juliana as more then just owners of one of our fav resturaunts but friends. We know they are wonderful people with only the best interest of the customer. if you have a bad expereince let carl know and go back again for another try. You will not regret it!
Great food great service – I have dined in the finest Restaurants from coast to coast and have not had a better experience, some of these reviews I read must have the wrong place, there can't be that much difference from one time to another.
High Expectations -- Disappointing Experience – I consider myself well-rounded when it comes to restaurant dining. I was therefore, very disappointed by my experience at Juliana's. I was part of a party of 8 for lunch during the December hoiidays. We had made reservations in advance, but our tables were not ready when we arrived. Service was extremely slow and disorganized. Our wait staff seemed unable to get beverages straight or keep them refilled. We asked for bread and after a long wait were brought a very small basket of very dry bread (was it from the night before?). We were told that we would have to wait until the bread came out of the oven. It never came. Our wait staff told us that we could order either from the Lunch or the Dinner menu, but everything that we ordered from the dinner menu was not available -- one of our party even had to order twice because after placing the order he was told that the second item also was not available. We waited. And waited. We waited for salad. We waited for entrees. We waited for dessert. I had to get up twice for additional silverware, as it was never replaced between courses. Two members of our group ended up having to leave just as their entrees finally arrived at the table (entrees arrived at different times, so some of our party had no food while others were eating -- or waiting while their food got cold). And did I mention that the rest of the restaurant was not busy? In short, I went in with high expectations and left wondering "what happened?"
