Urbane Orlando – This is the most urbane bar and restaurant in the city of Orlando if for no other reason than it's location across the street from Gaston T. Edwards Park is reminiscent of sitting in Central Park and having a cocktail across from Bethesda Fountain. Location aside the bartenders are wonderful and will provide plenty of insight into whatever it is that your pretty little martini addled brain wants to discuss. I found the clientele to be among the most sophisticated in the city as well, although I would up the ante on the dress code (Pleats went out in '95 boys) just a little! Overall a great little watering hole that can hold its own against any lounge in the country. P.S. Back room is fierce!
Service is great and bartenders friendly – Many of the so called Gay bars have one problem, the staff thinks they are out too trying to stand and model (S&M) and in the process give attitude like we should be happy they are speaking to us (the customer)---NOT, thank God at Lava. It has been a favorite of ours since it opened. It is CLEAN, friendly, and sometimes they even send a drink your way just to say thanks (a forgotton practice) Gay or Straight this place is a 10.
