WORST SERVICE EVER IN SOUTH TAMPA. I went to St Barts for Sunday brunch , I heard from numerous friends that is is a great brunch because of the seafood and unlimited mimosas . I showed up the hostess was reading a book and acted like I was bothering her. The waitress I barely saw, I had to get out of my seat to replenish my minosa. Nobody told me that they changed their menu and now CHARGE 9.00 a glass of champange (it used to be included) I had 4 glasses of champane (thinking this was included in the steep price of 37.00 ) I approached managment thinking there surely is a mistake when I got my bill of 88.00 for 4 shrimp an ham and cheeze omelette and 4 champagnes. Management acted like I was TRYING to Rip them off when I questioned the bill. I end up talking to one of the owners who treated me the same. I end up paying the bill but decided I was not going to TIP ( I was humiliated) They give me the bill knowing I was extremely upset and added a 18 percent gratuity to my bill ! They reluctantly removed the gratuity after I firmly told them that a tip was not worthy! The upside is the chef is very nice and so are the sharks in the salt water aquarium in the bar area. So sad that this resturant has gone DOWN HILL! When it first opened it was awesome!
Yikes, it came recommended, but I was dissapointed.. I heard many good things about this place, but I went there over the weekend and was extreamly dissapointed! It took about 20 minutes to get our drinks that then we had to trak down our waitress to order out dinner. It came out cold and when I tried to send it back the waitress gave me an attitude.
"used to be our favorite". My husband and I used to love coming to St. Bart's for a romantic dinner. We went for our 5 year anniversary and were very disappointed. The food was lousy, I had Ahi Tuna that had no favor and was very tough. My husband had the Calimari Steak which tasted like rubber. Our table wasn't level, causing it to rock the entire dinner and the service was poor. It's a shame this restaurant has gone down hill.
My midweek Caribbean get away!. Wow! I love this restaurant. It just feels like the perfect essence of St Barts - refined, global, innovative yet casual. The food is to die for. Carribean with a French gourmet flair and beautiful presentation. The ambience is more Ernest Hemingway than Tommy Bahama with it's bright walls, elegantly dark flooring and cane chairs. Service is friendly yet unobtrusive. Highly recommended for (not loud) groups but just perfectly intimate enough for two for a romantic dinner although we've never eaten here alone. We mostly hit SB for double or triple date dinners with other couples. Linger into the night for the great music or hit the place early for the great bar scene with couches.
