OHMYGAWD!!! I have finally found GREAT soul food in LA. Dulan's Soul Food Kitchen rocks! I've been to other popular places and they are good but this food tastes like home. The green beans tasted just like my Aunt Ada's green beans. The fried chicken is fabulous and the collard greens are to die for. I kept feeling like I was back home in Baltimore. To top it off, the corn bread is great. It is only lightly sweetened, not overpowered with sugar. And the portions are big and the staff is very nice. It's a hike from my house to Inglewood, but this is THE place to go for soul food in LA.
This is where you want to go for authentic ,great tasting hearty portion soul food !!!! – And if you want to talk about it, the owner Adolf will sit right down with you! He is one of the nicest men you will ever meet. Portions are hearty, delicious , with a large menu to choose from and a great dessert menu to finish off with. Dine in or take out. Service is quick and friendly. They have managed to keep prices low, probably because they have remained small. Parking is minimal, but they need to open a few more, that would help. If you havent tried it, youre missing out. Treat yourself.
Editorial Review – This Inglewood spot is where soul food seekers go for huge helpings in a simple setting.
Da Bomb Soul Food – Soul Food Kitchen rocks.I've been going there since I moved to Inglewood 5 years ago.The best meatloaf I have ever eaten with that gravey wow and there mac and cheese is jamming.Large portions as well.Nice people...
Best Soul Food in Los Angeles – The smoothered chicken, the greens, the cabbage - oh my God - the Peach Cobbler - ALMOST better than my mother's. An absolute must visit. I've tried almost everything on the menu - EVERYTHING is delicious!
Best Soul Food In LA – I haven't had the opportunity to try a great number of soul food restaurant in Los Angeles, but of those I have, SFK definitely has the best food. I love the baked chicken and mac & cheese. On Sundays they have a full dinner for about $15 that includes dessert and a drink, three sides, cornbread muffins, and an entree--it's a great deal. It's a pretty small joint, not the place you want to go if you're looking for ambiance, but the food is outstanding and the service is usually pretty good.
