IHOP Sanitation – One of the main problems that any restaurant has is bad habits of the emeployees. IHOP is no exception. Even with one of the highest food safety standards in the industry, you will still have issues with poor sanitation, cross-contamination, and unsafe food preperation if you dont have managers willing to enforce the standard.
My wife manages the IHOP in Davis CA, and it is a constant struggle with both the cooks and servers to maintain the level of safety that the corporation requires. With the cooks its mostly a language barrier, but with the servers (many being young students) there is alwayes the question "Why do we have to do that?"
What is unusual about your post is the way IHOP corporate has not contacted you. They are typically VERY responsive to issues of food safety. My suggestion, if you want to continue your follow-up, is to ask the manager or owner for the name and contact number of the regional supervisor.
Diarrhea from here – Hillsboro Ihop , Ordered the spinach omelette , pancakes , my son had french toast .
Only my husband and I became sick the next morning so it must have been either the omelette or the pancakes . this is the THIRD time in 2 years we have become sick from an Ihop twice in the west and once in the east.
We have eaten at ihop many other times such as the salem location and didnt become sick.
I looked this up on the internet and many sites have said that Ihop has odd food practices such as leaving things on the counter and combining old food to new food like the utensil they use to form the pancakes . They said they had norivirus and guess what , we had ALL the symptoms of norivirus . Its always soon after and the symptoms are always the same .
its the third time in 2 years but thats too much for me . I LOVE ihop ,and i love the food, the staff is always great , ONE EXCEPTION when my husband called to let them know in hillsboro , she did seem to think it was funny , she actually laughed , yeah real funny.
He contacted corporate and they said someone would call , no call. time for another email .
Breakfast served all day and pancakes served a variety of ways are the hallmarks of this diner-style restaurant. – In Short
The first International House of Pancakes opened in a suburb of Los Angeles in 1958 serving a menu of hearty breakfast favorites. Today the restaurant still serves its signature dishes like the original buttermilk pancakes and pigs in blankets: sausage links wrapped in hotcakes. Other breakfast items include waffles, omelets, French toast and crepes. Non-breakfast offerings include sandwiches, burgers, entree-sized salads, and dinners like T-bone steak, pot roast and herb-roasted chicken.
