We were customers from 2007 till late 2010 when the signal turned to in and out, at best. After multiple calls they finally pulled their equipment off our property, earlier this year, and told us that it was because of too many wireless devices between here and the South hill in Spokane. Interesting that our next door neighbor has the service and says it is OK. We are now on a Verizon hot spot and it is not much better. We are way out here by the Spokane International Airport. None of the other vendors are interested in business from the 50 or so houses in this area.
Great customer service and a fast connection – We are a recent conversion from Dish Network Satellite internet (Wild Blue). We live in the sticks so satellite was our only option, until we learned that Air-Pipe had a transmitter on top of Chair 4 up at Schweitzer mountain.
I emailed them locally and was contacted within one day. I went in and discussed options for service, and then Chris, their installation tech, promptly came out and saw we had a decent signal. We then decided on a pachage, and made the switch from satellite to Air-pipe. The installation was done quickly and professionally, and Chris answered all our questions as he set us up on our computer. The next day after installation Kerry, the local manager, called me to check on my satisfaction with the install and the internet connection.
I am very satisfied, both with the speed of my connection, which blows satellite out of the water, and satisfied with the cost of the service, which I find to be reasonable. What I am most happy about is the local service and an actual caring person who is doing his best to see we are satisfied. I would highly recommend Air-Pipe for their fast connection, prompt customer service, and professional knowledge.
meh – The internet service is decent all said, but check out POVN and Intermax which both use the same technology. It's not cable or DSL, so it's not as orientated toward the mass market and you can't expect the same price / kbit.
If you call this company, however, you may encounter someone with Crappy Life Syndrome (CLS). Please be as understanding as you can and above all, please avoid working for this company yourself -- there is a reason they cycle through people.
I came to regret my brief time at this business, and wish I had trusted my gut enough to walk away when the owner said aloud three times on one occasion, in a public restaurant, that he wanted to murder his brother-in-law. Yeah, its kinda crazy, but the poor guy feels entitled to hold these type of sentiments about whomever makes his gripe list. That "a man who treats his own family like crap will treat employees worse," is something I came to understand from reading his father's resignation letter that was left on what became my laptop.
I am glad I moved on -- everyday was like getting my hair pulled for trying to do the job. If you value a quality life, do not work for this company, they poop on people. Worse, they try to get people to like getting pooped on. icky!
bad service, worse management. – Air-Pipe have been around for awhile now and has adopted Motorola Canopy! a very reliable set of equipment. but they will charge you 200 if you sign three years and 100 more for each less year you sign for. and it gets worse! a movie streams at 300-500kbps, there base package has a steady rate of 256kbps!!! and it's 49.95/mo??? why do i need to pay 79.95/mo for a steady 1mbps? and why is it hell to talk to anyone in billing? the same old B**** is still running the place and goes through helpers like toilet paper, but i think the paper is treated better. i even worked there! i was forced to quit when i couldn't show up for another days work, when i was told to show up the next day on a call at 9:30PM and i told him i had back issues which i received working for them! i was making 11/hr climbing towers, and working 40-60 hours per week non stop. and i was better paid than most techs! the whole company is based off of loans, and the have TONS! and the owner likes to try to run everything with a cocky i'm a electrical engineer attitude. he has a bachelors degree, and now that he almost got in a fist fight with his previous networking engineer, he is running the network mainly by himself, causing random down times, and even went as far as to get his whole domain blacklisted for a period of about a month! i would too is i could! they are a bunch of idiots down there and they will not be able to keep up with the future speeds, not unless you want to sign away your house and your next two children for the price of the equipment they are going to want to sell you for a better speed! stay away from this company! there are cheeper faster alternatives, Wind wireless, a small company with about as much down time as air-pipe but far less as annoying, offers 1.5mbps at slowest! $250 install and no contract! and to upgrade... 200$ at most? no need to buy a 600-800$$$$ canopy radio!
Not much data in the Air-pipe. Plenty of hot air though. – The way that our service was installed was sloppy at best. It worked like that too. Dial up was more reliable. Wouldn't use them again!!!
