I don't understand what happened when other people went to this store, but I had a totally wonderful experience there. I didn't know what to expect after reading all the reviews--I was hopeful but skeptical. I went to the Spokane, WA store on January 12, 2013. I had only been engaged for 2 weeks and was hoping to plan a wedding in 6 months to marry this summer. So I knew I wanted to get a dress (an affordable dress) and quick. I had picked out about 20 "favorites" from the website, and my salesperson,Robyn, had my printout ready to go and waiting for me when I arrived. She listened to me about my very firm budget--not wanting to go over $500 total for eveything (dress, slip, bra, restoration package). She listened to me about styles and preferences. There were many dress options under $300 that were beautiful, classy, and of quality. Yes, maybe the store is not as fancy as a boutique or maybe you don't get as pampered. There is no champagne waiting for you. But you don't pay an arm and a leg either! Who needs to pay over a $1000 for a dress I will only wear once?? With the help of Robyn, and that of my 2 friends present, I picked out the perfect dress in 1.5 hrs, bought it, had it shipped, and was done!! I thought David's Bridal had an excellent selection, but mostly I was impressed with Robyn's service. She confessed she had only been working there 3 or 4 weeks, but she was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. Although the store was booming with weekend and sale event traffic, she easily focused on me and made my needs feel important. God bless this woman!! She made this ordeal seem easy--and I was totally overwhelmed when I arrived.


(Missoula, MT ---that's the other thing--we were driving from 4 hours away on very snowy roads and were late, but they still fit us in no problem!)

Go to Celestial Selections instead! – The dresses were pretty but the quality did not match the price..... the experience left little to be excited about.

We had an appointment but you would have thought we were had just walked in the way we were treated. As we scrounged around for our own chairs (for 3 people not 20!) we noticed another gal and her family getting the royal treatment while our gal was busy running around the store servicing another group for prom dresses....not what I expected with an appointment made in advance.

My daughter did find a dress she liked but we decided to try another shop that I had heard was really great and I am so gald we did!

When we walked in, without an appointment I might add, we were treated to a very special experience. The gal who helped us treated my daughter with respect and was very helpful and she made us feel like she wanted to help my daughter pick out her special dress and for a similar price!

So I want to be sure to let as many people know they should skip David's Bridal and just go to Celestial Selections on Pines! I hope you will also find it is the experience you are looking for!

Poor Service – I must say that it seems that what people are told about policies at this store VARY to an extreme degree. I walked in without an appt. but was told I did not have to make one, but for future reference it was better if you did. I was greeted when I first came in by a nice young lady who told me where the wedding dresses and bridesmaids dresses were. No explanation about sizes or anything. She said I might look around until a sales person got with me.

After about 15 minutes a sales lady came and asked me my size, which my regular size IS NOT the same size as the dresses, but we figured that out quickly. This lady was nice enough, however after I did find dress that I liked (although I hadn't made a decision) she proceeded to put a veil on me, without asking if I wanted a veil, which I do not.........which was kinda awkward. When I asked her about styles, and which ones would flattery my figure best, she didn't seem to think it mattered.........I'm plus size, so YES it does! Part of the job a dress consultant has is to know the different styles, and to be able to offer advice when asked. Y

Then while I was still trying on a dress she started helping someone else, and I just kinda disappeared into the landscape I guess.......because I was to wait in my dressing room for someone to come and unzip me (it's impossible to get yourself out of a wedding gown) until finally I went out in search of someone else who could help, and found someone who seemed appalled that the lady who was helping me had ditched me. She didn't stick around either, although she was involved with a customer..........and I had to get help again.

Finally, I left without making a purchase. I did receive a follow up from the manager, and shared with her my experience, and she assigned a more "experienced" consultant for me to see "next time".

They need to make up their made whether or not they are willing to help people on a Walk-In basis or not, and if YES those people who walk in need to be given the same amount of service, or asked to make an appt for another time, and NOT left standing there in a dress they can't get out of, while they help someone who DOES have an appt. Besides, there were several employees there at the time, and it was MY sales lady (the first one) was the only one helping customers, so I don't totally fault her, as it seems she was the only one really working! However, she should have asked someone else, or at least told me that she had an appt (which I'm just assuming that the person had an appt) and not just leave me in the room.

David's Bridal is OKAY when it comes to prices, but not for expert help or guidance.........or even service. I went in again yesterday and they had a beautiful dress, but not in my size. We were able to try it on, and have her hold it closed, and it looked "okay". She said that the largest size it comes in was one up from what I tried on, and that she "thought" that would work.........but that if I wanted it I had to purchase it before they would order it in. If this is the case, I might as well order my dress online (and save money as the internet has better deals and a better selection than they do) and "hope" it works.

Overall my experience wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. I would go back again, but I know better than to have high hopes for professional service either. It isn't any different than going into a regular clothing store.....I actually recieve better service at Lane Bryant.....for such a special occasion, this should not be the case.

Excellent as long as you know what to expect – I have had some excellent experiences here, mostly with bridesmaids. However it is important to know what to expect.


First of all the gal some of you have referenced is named Melina. She helped fit all of my bridesmaids and is wonderful, very kind and helpful. She is genuinely interested in your success NOT just trying to sell you something. I enjoyed working with her and appreciated her tactful suggestions.

We looked a lot of places for my girls and we were able to get the best dresses for the lowest price. There are plenty of places to find better dresses but they come with the huge price tag. Davids had the best balance and all my girls were very happy with their choices.

They do have great accessories. I got my shoes, my veil, my girls dresses and their shoes for very reasonably priced.


It is usually very busy, especially on weekends. That is something that nobody can help. The sales people do their best but sometimes you do have to wait to receive the help you need. Don't go if you are in a hurry. If you want to enjoy your visit go with this in mind and make the best of it.

The first time I came in to try on wedding gowns I felt the sales woman was fairly pushy and kept implying that I should get all sorts accessories from them. It was my first visit and it was a little intimidating. I highly recommend Celestial Selections for the wedding dress. The atmosphere was much more relaxed and much less pressure. All of my top 3 gowns were there.

They want a lot off information from you as soon as you get there. They ask for your name, wedding date, email, phone number and other information right when you get there. I would prefer they wait till I decide if I want to buy before giving that out.

The dresses take 12 weeks to get in. I was not expecting that. We almost missed the deadline. Be aware of this especially if somebody needs alterations.


A great place to go for good bridesmaids. There are lots of great dresses in the $70-$100 range. The atmosphere is fun and more relaxed than the bridal fittings. We received excellent service and had some fun. Be prepared to wait a bit and deal with some sales tactics.

Ask to work with Melina if you can. She will make the experience the very best it can be.

Dont even bother going here!! – I stopped into Davids Bridal in july, and i had horrilbe service. If you are a bride or bridesmaid i wouldnt bother. The consultants are sweet, and really try hard to serve everyone as best as they can, but whenever i tried talking to managment they were extremely rude and hurtfull. I expected to have my entire wedding outfitted there, and i dont want to surround myself with them. I would go into detail but i think that would be too much info....Celestial selections had amazing selections for bridal and bridesmaids!!!!

David's Bridal in Spokane Valley – I had a very good experience here. As a plus size girl (size 16) I was very hesitant about buying a bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding. I haven't bought a dress in over 10 years! The sales woman, Malina (I think) was wonderful at her job and helped me with several dresses and good honest opinions. The dress in the color I needed had to be shipped from PA and other than them having me listed under the wrong wedding, my experience was as good as it could have been.

Davids Bridal Spokane Valley – June8,2011 Dladyz writes

I am so very dissapointed in your store, and your service.

I was to be in a wedding, but under extreme circumstances, I am unable to be in it.

I paid $155.00+tax for a bridesmaid dress.

During this economic time, that was alot to spend,but I

did. Since I am unable to be in the wedding, I asked about returning it, to be told there are no returns,whether it was worn or not. The tags are still on it

same bag it came in, but that doesnt matter, you are just out, and it isnt their problem that you cant wear it.

Might be something to consider if you are having a wedding

Did we all visit the same store? – We went on Sunday September 19. THEY WERE SLAMMED! Not only were there several brides, but bridesmaids and homecoming shoppers. I can speak for the other patrons, but all seemeed happy with their service. I didnt see anyone unhappy or hear any complaints. I believe the gal that helped us (I am the bride and my sister was the bridesmaid) was Malina (?) She was AWESOME! Super busy, yet very attentive and sweet. She was honest, a great help and very personalable. She must have had 5 or 6 people at one time she was helping and she was right on top of it!!!!!

I would totally recommend her to anyone and the Valley location.

With as busy as they were, they did a great job at meeting you at the door, with introductions and with dress selections and waiting room help.

Poor Customer Service – I have been a bride. I had a wonderful experience picking out my dress and that of my bridesmaids. 10 years later, I am a maid of honor. I'm in my 30's and I haven't put a dress on in 2 years. I'm sweating before I even walk in there. You know? The pictures in front of the shop. LOL. The usual doubts about "Holy crud, how am I going to find a dress in here...they are all suited for infants." My worries got laid to rest when the first lady in the front approached me and acknowledged me instantly. I felt a little more confident. She asked me what I was looking for and I showed her what the bride had in mind. I wished she had stayed to help me. Instead she handed me over to a VERY young lady who brought me to a chart of size 1's. Asked me what I liked. HUH?!! Then she showed me where the dresses were, took me around a corner and told me this is where I could try on the dresses I selected.

Alright....#1....it would be awsome if they would put a mirror in the dressing room. There was no one to help me....I couldn't zip up my dress....so I couldn't walk out. I did the best I could opening my dressing room door and peeking in the mirror. I had to BUG the young lady that set me up the first time. She was also helping a rather large group. I was just one person. But there were other women about who worked there. I walked back and forth to that dressing room 5 times!!!! I tried on 8 different dresses and I put back my dresses where I found them and I quietly walked out. I don't need someone to ask me if I need help 100 times. But ya know...when you have extra employees in the place and a person there is having a hard time selecting an item......FREAKIN HELP EM!!!!! It's hard enough to zip up your own dress...let alone pick something out....I found them lacking in customer service. I didn't get the feeling that without their "CHART" they didn't really know what they were talking about. Besides the first person who helped me....I wasn't impressed. At all. What's worse...I have to go back today....I'll blame the bride....it's a good thing I love her! =)

A Waste of Time... – I contacted this shop 4 times and could never get a call-back for an appointment. Finally I just dropped by when up there for something else; it was 5pm (they close at 9) on a Tuesday and there was only one other customer in the store. Though there were at least 6 workers milling around chatting with one another, I couldn't get any help. I asked if I could try a few dresses on but was told I had to make and appointment to do so. Even though they weren't doing anything, were open for another 4 hours, and I had travelled 2 hours to see them they 'couldn't manage' to get me in. The prices are great, but if you actually want to try anything on, or even get treated like a human, don't waste your time. I had $500 cash in-hand and couldn't get more than a catalog. Terrible, Terrible service.
