Awesome piercing experience!
I went in with some friends who were getting some work done and, on a whim, decided to get my hood pierced. I was kind of nervous, but Troy was so calm and explained everything fully. He made me feel at ease almost instantly with a lot jokes. I don't know what I expected as far as pain goes, but he was so quick that I hardly had time to flinch! (Which would have been a bad idea anyway!)
Overall, a superb shop with excellent customer service! I will definitely be back!
Excellent Tattoo Shop – I'm Kyle Giffen! I currently work at Platinum Ink in Austin TX. I've also been fetured on Oxygen for the new hit tv show Best Ink! And have been published in Tattoo Magazine. From my experiences in working in tattoo shops I've come to find that Platinum Ink is one of the best places to work and receive a tattoo or body piercing. I love it here!
Excellent on every level – My wife and I came in last night to get her nose pierced...she has waited a long time to do so and was immediately put completely at ease by Troy, who first spoke with her on the phone and then personally did her piercing. When we got there I decided to get another tattoo and Keith was wonderful at working with me on the spot to get a design that was exactly what I wanted. Then my wife came out looking perfect and comfortable and it was my turn. I was tattooed by Jeff and he was not only a true professional artist, but a great dude who knew exactly what I wanted without asking and worked after hours to get it exactly right and exceed my expectations. I have found my tattoo artist and the entire staff there were fantastic!...thanks guys!
so far so good – I've gotten both a tattoo and a piercing there, both of which were very cheap, AND very well done. Jeff was my tattoo artist, He's been in the business for 12 years. Made me feel very comfortable, definitely going back for more. VERY LIGHT HANDED for those of you who are "sensitive".
Thank you for taking the time to write a nice review for the shop and Jeff. He is an excellent artist and a pleasure to work with. I am always excited to hear positive feedback.
Blah, eh. – Well at least I didn't get AIDS. I guess there's that.
I can only assume this review was posted by a competitor, and is completely invalid.

Absolute perfection !!!! – I have 4 tattos all have been custom tats, 3 of which Justin has done. Each tat I worked with him giving him ideas of what I wanted and we incorporated ideas to come up with the best tattoos each time. The 1st was a wide ankle band - I told him I wanted something tribal and he free handed it - it was absolutely perfect- that was in 2004 and as of today I have NEVER had to get a touch up on it, it's just as dark and vibrant today as it was the day I got it, and it's black, several shades of blue and white, I healed in about a week to week and a half, no scabbing, no scaling, nnothing, all I did was follow his directions exactly for aftercare. The 2nd tat was in Oct 2008, I did a a large tribal tat on my leg it has alot of black / grey ink with a bunch of shading - again it currently looks like the day I got it- the colors are rich and deep and not fading, again I healed in about a weeks time, no scabbing/scaling, just followed the aftercare directions to the tee. My newest tat we started on 12/17/10 and covers the whole top portion of my back, from the shoulder to shoulder and down just below the shoulder blades. This is a large hawaiian floral piece, we've done all the outlining (took 5+ hrs) - I healed in less than a week, no scabbing or anything (my husband is jealous!!). This weekend I go in for the 2nd sitting to start coloring. My husband also has 2 custom tats by Justin (done on the same days as my last 2). I have also taken my God Son and God daughter to have justin do their tats and he HAS ALWAYS given ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL tats, that heal well. He does awesome work, listens to his clients, and really takes your ideas to heart and makes them master pieces of art on your body. He works very hard to make you happy and give you the best experience possible. I have also seen his work and Chaos' work on several of my friends, of which I was present at the time they received their tats, so I can vouch for their work, it's what made me want to get my work done by there. The place is beyond clean, and well Justin is a clean freak - it's almost as if he has OCD when it comes to working in a clean environment - and that is important, it's not just a tat/ master piece he is giving, he is doing his absolute best at insuring that he is giving you hiscreativity, and artitry along with protecting your health - which should be the most important thing you consider when getting a tattoo. it doesn't do any good to get aq cheap tat, or one that looks awesome if the artist doesn't take the time to make sure his equipment is sterile and in a clean environment. At Platinum Ink - least from my MULTIPLE expierences with Justin (at both locations) and Chaos at the Burnet location I know I can trust them with my life and giving me the most creative and unique (AWESOME) tats. I've also had my tongue pierced at the Burnet location back in 2004 and NEVER had any issues, they actually finished the piercing before I even knew they had stuck me - i never felt any pain - I healed perfectly, even ate salsa the same night (not something I recommend, it burned like H E double L- but that was no one's fault but my own, and nothing that ice didn't fix). if anyone has questions or concerns, or wants to see pics of the work they have done, feel free to email me I am more than happy to share my experiences. I HIGHLY recommend Justin (aka JDub) who is now at the South location, as well as Chaos at the Burnet location. I haven't used anyone else there so I can't comment other than I have witnessed them being just as clean as Justin and Chaos - they have all been more then helpful. I've been going to them now for 7 years - and trust them with all my tat or piercing needs.
This is a fantastic review and I can't thank you enough for taking your time to put together a thorough review. We look forward to seeing you soon.
FORGET ABOUT THIS PLACE! – Don't do it.
I got a tattoo with Chaos, I'm not complaining about the tat 'cause it looks good after all. But, it burn for a while after I got it, I had to wait for Chaos to have a stupid cigarette break before he did mine, I waited forever...I mean, I'm paying money to be treated like crap. Even after following his advices (he said the design I had couldn't be done, and it was my first tat so I thought he was an expert at this.so I listened)
If I'm paying money, i get what I want. deal?
RUDE people, long wait time, never going there again.
want somehting perfect? pay more money and go somewhere else!
I am glad your tattoo came out well, but I must apologize for the rest of your experience. Every artist has limitations and not all designs are tattooable. Chaos used his judgement to decide what was or wasn't tattooable. Not everyone is going to agree with what is and isn't good for a tattoo design that is when artists use their discretion and decide what they are comfortable doing. We have multiple locations and I truely hope you give us another chance with an artist you are more comfortable with.
sooooooo cooooolllll – I went to Platinum Ink . I left a 50 dollar deposit on a tattoo design to be drawn. i came back for my appointment 2 days later. Justin was the guy drawing my tattoo up. I show up and he told me he just started on the drawing, so i was a bit concerned. He explained to me that it would be done in a couple of minutes. So i thought to myself " i hope this is going to look good " Twenty minutes roll on and he shows me the most bad ass cross with praying hands and rosery i had ever seen. The tattoo took 5 hours and i paid the shop $400....needless to say i gave him a fat tip!!!!! ill have pics soon on my face book!!!!!!! Platinum seems to me to be the best shop in town. Do yourself a solid..... check out other shops first, then come into Platinum. it is THE SHOP !
Honest, friendly, bad ass tattoo – Listen when i say Platinum ink has an awsome tattoo artist named Kyle. I dont have his last name but it starts with a G. Kyle G is working on a half sleeve for me , all traditional. He helped me pick out the elements i wanted in the tattoo and then he took an hour and drew it all up. i paid 200 for the out line it took a little over 2 hours. Then im coming back in 2 weeks to do the shade color. Awesome PRICING and awesome TATTOO. I went around town and got a bunch of attitude from smaller tattoo shops , stick with this place
Thank you....Thank you...Thank you....It's always great to hear about happy experiences. Kyle is an exceptional artist and we are very proud to have him on our team.
