Chicago's historically Swedish neighborhood has a museum to preserve and celebrate the culture. – In Short
Located in the heart of Andersonville since 1976, the museum maintains a permanent collection of history, art and artifacts. It isn't the biggest cultural attraction in Chicago, but its low admission price makes this unassuming storefront museum one of Chicago's true bargains. The museum offers free newspapers, catering to both Swedes and Swedish-Americans, and a gift shop that sells books, toys and novelties with a Swedish touch. The museum also offers Swedish language classes year-round.
