Awful Service. I went to David's Bridal to look at bridesmaid dresses, with an appointment. We waited a good 15 minutes to be helped even with an appointment and there was only 1 other party there. Then we pretty much had to do everything ourselves and spent more time searching for our consultant than we did finding the right dress. After ordering I have called multiple times to ensure things are being shipped, as none of us live in Boise, and everytime they are rude and have not done what they said they would. I would not recommend this David's Bridal to anyone.
Horrible Customer Service – I went to David's Bridal not expecting much, though I had heard both good and bad things from friends of mine. But, being on a budget (and having looked in couple of other stores) I decided that they were probably my best bet. First trip was for bridesmaid dresses. Though we had an appointment, we waited 15 minutes before anyone helped us. The girls tried on numerous styles and asked the consultant to write down their favorites, so they could come back and make a final decision. Though she was writing numbers down, she did not indicate who liked what so when we came back they had to try things on all over again. Third trip was to try on wedding dresses. I understand that they get busy and hectic, and as I know I am one to get impatient, I made my appointment on a Tuesday afternoon. Myself and one other girl were there. Despite the 6 or so consultants in the store, we were assigned to the same person and put right next to each other. There was no one else in the entire store! It took four hours to try on dresses because I was in each one for 5-10 minutes while she helped the other girl. I made an appointment for a week later to try on my top 4 dresses. I was so sure that this would be the day I would take home my dress! Alas, my appointment had not been recorded, the style numbers were not written down (like I was told they were) and the only reason I had any dresses to try on was that I had brought my pictures from the first appoinment and they used the pictures to find the ones I liked. Unfortunately, they no longer had the bra or slip size I needed to try on dresses, and one of the dresses was not available in my size. I was told they 'must have sold out'. Within a week? This time I was one of three girls in the store, again, all assigned to the same consultant while several others stood around talking. I left without my dress again. I did eventually find my dress, but the service did not improve. Each time I went in, though there was always someone at the counter, I was usually ignored for several minutes - if you're busy you can at least acknowledge that I am standing there, right? They also messed up on a bridesmaid sash. We returned it and ordered a new one that never came. After repeated calls during which I was assured 'it must be on its way' I finally went in and was told that the order had never been placed. I had to request the $20 bridesmaid dress discount (for buying your dress there too) several times before I got it. This is the place to go if you're on a budget, but don't expect much other than a cheap dress.
David's made my day wonderful – I was a bride at David's Bridal and I received the best treatment a bride could ask for!!!! They took my measurements before ordering my gown, and it fit wonderful when it arrived. One month after picking up my dress I found out I was pregnant and went back to David's and told them my situation and how I just knew the dress would not fit in 4 months time. The staff was very understanding and brought out this amazing alterations manager and she helped me so much!!! On my wedding day I was in my dream dress and it fit perfectly!!! Kudos to an amazing staff and alterations department!!!
What a Gown!!! – I traveled 3 hours to look at bridal gowns and was sooo very nervous because I had so little time! David's was my last stop because I had read so many poor reviews, but with no luck so far in finding a place that would have a gown ready for me in as little as 2 months I felt I had no other options! I was so surprised the minute I walked in the door! I was instantly greeted by a sweet girl who honestly wanted to help me. I told her my time constraints and then she explained their buy off the rack policy and alterations and then set me up with a consultant. They provided me with bra slip and shoes to try on with my gowns and helped me in and out of them. Which was extremely helpful because only my mother was with me and she was wheel chair bound with a broken foot. The other shops I visited that day did not help me in and out and I found it quite difficult. So the girl at the front was right, I found my gown right there in the store. I did not have to order!!! It was not one that I had even paid much attention to, but the consultant that was helping me said let me grab one that has a little of everything that you are looking for! And it was the one!!! Now I am 5'2" so I knew that I would need alterations because I will be wearing flats and I was concerned about coming back another 2 times with it being such a long drive. So alterations came out and pinned me that very day! I was able to get everything done in a matter of 2 hours! I should have gone there first!!! When I returned to get my dress from having been altered I was even more impressed! They remember me! I thought for sure with all off the traffic they get they would have no clue who I was! When I put the dress on I was amazed at how it fit. It was perfect! So I really dont understand what all the complaining is about with this shop! Maybe there are too many spoiled girls out there that expect just a little too much!!!
Don't know what all the fuss was about – I have heard so many horror stories about David's Bridal. Friends told me they were rude, pushy, high-pressure. My future mother-in-law even said they made her daughter cry. So, needless to say, my mother and I went in prepared to do battle. The consultant at the front desk was polite and patient, and my particular sales girl was just wonderful. It was a Saturday and she was juggling mutliple clients, but she was upfront about her busy schedule and I appreciated the honesty. She helped me change into my dress, and calmed all my fears about parading around the store in front of strangers. I found a perfect dress in my price range, and ended up purchasing all the trimmings she suggested. I left with my dress in hand thinking: "What was everyone complaning about? These people are great." Busy, absolutely. But as helpful as they could be given the circumstances. The only thing I would say is that I would go elsewhere if you're self-conscious in front of strangers. My mirror was the farthest from the dressing room, and there were quite a few mothers and brides sizing me up. Not helpful when you're in a dress you already suspect looks ridiculous on you. But overall, I don't think this place deserves the bad rap its getting.
What a GREAT experience – I went to several of the bridal shops in Boise searching for my perfect gown, and the best experience I had was at David's Bridal!!! I have heard so many complaints about them I was weary of going in, but with some of the experiences I had already had I figured what the heck! I made an appointment because they highly reccommended it, that way I would get the attention needed. I went in and was surprised to see how many gowns they actually had in my size. My consultant was very knowledgable and sweet:) I ended up ordering the gown I was trying on in Ivory and to help me feel a little better about ordering a different color than what I was trying on my consultant had me try a gown that was quite similar only in Ivory. She was very patient while I made up my mind. Showed me wonderful accessories. The entire staff was kind and curteous from the moment I walked in and then left...
So I reccommend you give David's a try, forget all the bad things you have heard. I think the negative stories are coming from extreme bridezilla's that are never happy!!!
Horrible customer service – A warning to anyone who may be shopping for a wedding gown: the customer service is absolutely awful at the David's Bridal in Boise. I purchased a dress, and it was ruined in alterations. Of course, they will neither exchange the dress nor give me a refund, because "all sales are final". I am now handling a credit card dispute for a $500 unwearable dress which I never even took out of the store. The management is extremely rude and condescending. Your time and money would be far better spent elsewhere.

A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
Don't waste your time!!! – The sales people don't really care about giving you any type of quality customer service. They treat you like a number, only caring about how much money they can make in commission from you, and they have hundreds of people waiting in line for their turn to be treated like crap. I went in there several times only to leave after poor customer service.
