Probably the most horrible and worst experience with a taxi driver I ever had. Never had I been subject to such verbal and physical abuse. So I took a cab home with a friend and asked to pay with a debit card. He claimed that I gave him an unfair tip and asked me to pay more, so instead of a 3 dollar tip, I gave him an extra five dollars on top of that. After I was out of the taxi, I told him that what he did was rude and unacceptable to treat his customers that way. As a result, he spit at me and my friend, called us obscene words, then speeds away! Luckily, I was able to take down his license plate and cab number and report him. But honestly, this was one of the worst experiences ever, and I never suggest taking this.
HORRIBLE! Bay Cab #443 (phone 702-2311) – I would love to try and be nice about my experience - but the guy was such an flippin' thieving jerk - I can't.
Took the cab from the sfo. he popped the truck and didn't bother to help put my luggage in - then as soon as i sat down he rudely said ' you pay cash' (in broken english). when i told him i was going to pay by credit card he got angry and said again ' YOU PAY CASH'! i again told him I was paying by credit card and he said ' YOU DON'T HAVE $20 CASH'? I said 'nope and it's only $11 to where i'm going'. He told me he couldn't take credit cards. when I told him I knew he could because you have to be able to credit cards if you are a cab at the airport. When all was said and done he copied my card the old fashioned way (also against regulations) and then cleared the meter and told me it was 3 more than what the meter read. He just out and out lied! Was SUPER RUDE and tried to rip me off. If I was a tourist he would have ripped me off even more. I asked for is information and he refused to give it to me. I tried calling the number but it is a fake.
Re: Complaint about my business – I am giving my 2Cents to above review. 1st of all, I have to mention that I don't have any relationship with Bay Cab so I assure that I am neutral. I am just presenting what I have known from my experiences of cab driver ( from different company others than Bay).
I am not sure where you got the cab. You mentioned that you took it in front of the hotel. The first thing got into my mind is if you're just going into the city for short distance, the cab driver will be disappointed. Since almost all the drivers prefer to get the fare to the airport or long distance drive. To get that kind of fare, most drives have to wait for at least 90 minutes or more(in a slow day). If they get the short customer, they can't get back first in the line but just go back all the way to the end and wait for who know how long it will gonna be.
I am not saying that you did wrong or that cab driver's right. I agree that even though he was upset, perhaps he should keep it himself and not let it out in front of you.
But, now you know how things work and how long those cab drivers have to wait to get the decent fair, you may perhaps help them by flagging the cab driving on the streets or if no cab driving on the streets, ask the last cab in the line, that way everyone has win-win situation. Hope this is helpful.
Complaint about my business – I have never had a cab driver complain about getting a customer. I take cabs at least two times a day and I was running late, took one in front of a hotel and had the driver complain that I "Could take any other cabs in the street." I was so pissed. Just drive! It was totally unprofesinal and not only did he complain a few blocks, he complained while on the phone. SO if you take Bay Cab, dont take this driver 5845* (left the last number out). He was rude, silly and angry. Ill NEVER take that cab Co. again!
