I walked in late on a Saturday night with my girlfriend, a couple hours before closing. We each got a tattoo. To start, the artist, Jea'nine (J9), was exceptional. The management is incredibly nice and helpful (gave us some free ointment because we short on cash). The tattoos were done quickly and beautifully and I couldn't possibly be happier with mine! Bonus: the pricing was very reasonable ($50 minimum, and we spent about $180 total for just short of 2 hours, despite their working rate of $125/hr). Warning: they only accept cash because the management does not believe in exchanging credit debt for art (YES) and there are multiple bank branches/ATMs across the street.
This was a great experience, and I know if I want another tat, I will return here. My girlfriend feels the same way.
Lady Luck Tattoo Parlor has my full recommendation. Although I cannot speak for every artist, I have complete confidence in both Isaac and Ashton after meeting them. Ashton did my tattoo, and her work is impeccable. She listened to my ideas, perfected them, and translated them gently onto my foot. This was my first tattoo, and my piercings are minimal. One of my biggest concerns was that my artist would not take me seriously or even ridicule me. However, both Ashton and Isaac were extremely kind; answered my many, many questions and addressed my concerns; and were supportive and amenable throughout the entire experience. The studio is, of course, very clean. The nice thing about it though is that between bright colors, decorations, and music, it has a fun and distracting atmosphere. One of the best parts of this experience for me was the complete honesty I got from both Ashton and Isaac. Knowing little about tattoos, I wanted mine to be really low on my foot. They explained to me why it would be better to raise it for both healing and appearance, taking the time to show me what that would look like and how I could still cover it with a high heel, or really any shoe. Ashton took a lot of time to explain to me what I needed to do as far as aftercare, and made sure that I had a number to call with questions. So, if, like me, you’re an easily-worried college student looking to get her first tattoo, I think Lady Luck is a great place for you to go. I will definitely be going back there for any future work.
Jea'nine (or J9) at Lady Luck Tattoo has been my one and only artist since 2002. She is a perfectionist in every sense of the word. She holds herself to a standard which is nearly unobtainable, yet somehow manages to achieve. Her dedication to her craft is unwavering. She holds true to the old school without ever losing sight of the new and refuses to "sell out" to fades or the latest "in thing". Her knowledge of her craft is profound, which she is able to discuss without sounding snobbish or treating you like a newbie. Not only is she an incredible artist, she is an awesome person. Always friendly, and willing to go out of her way to make you the customer feel welcome, comfortable, safe and cared for. There is nothing that I have seen asked of Jea'nine that she hasn't come through on in an amazing way. Over the years I have had uncountable compliments on my tattoos. Most notably, I have Japanese Kanji down each side of my ribs. Jea'nine inked these on in a way that it looks like it was actually done with a Japanese paint brush. Once you are tattooed by Jea'nine, you are a part of the Lady Luck Family. If I had to describe Jea'nine in one word it would be "Impeccable". This is why she has been and always will be my one and only artist.
I recommend anyone who is thinking about getting there first tattoo to go to Lady Luck Tattoo and ask for an appointment with Jason he tatted me up and my first tattoo was one I brought in myself and it came out nicely done again just wait for an appointment with Jason 2 thumbs up
My boyfriend gave me a gift certificate for my birthday to Lady Luck Tattoo Studio....exactly what I wanted! I made an appointment with Marcii to fix/finish/prettify 3 partial Hawaiian Hibiscus flower tats covering most of my lower leg. Lucky for me she did not hesitate to repair other artist's work. She is a true professional. While she worked for 3 hours to give me ONE beautiful tattoo, I enjoyed looking around at all the "old school tattoo parlor" decor. No Dr. office look here! If you need repair work Marcii can do it! I am very happy with my "new looking" tattoo.
I came in for my first tattoo here, after having driven by here for years, with a design that I'd roughed out. The people were totally friendly, and put me at ease for the entire process. Everything was explained, and the process went smoothly. Issac did a great job, transferring my sketch to a finished product. The colors are great, can't say enough about his quality of work. He and Caleb made both myself and daughter relaxed, and glad this is the place that I chose of have it done at.
Was really impressed with Lady Luck Tattoo. It's clean and the people there are professionals. I have a few tattoos from previous tattoo shops, and wish I had found this place first. Jason is AMAZING. His talent and skill for tattooing is nothing less than exceptional. He worked with me to draw up a tattoo that is truly meangful piece of art. I liked his work so much I went back the following day and asked him to breathe life into an old tattoo. It looks better than it ever did. My sister liked his art so much, she went to him as well. I cannot wait to see him again! If you are searching for a place to get a quality tattoo with a person who actually cares about his art and your opinions, I highly recommend Jason at Lady Luck. You won't be sorry.
Super nice workers. They are really entertaining. Jason was the person who gave me my very first tattoo. He was really nice. He gave me a very nice pep talk before the tattoo so I wouldn't freak out. Really nice place.
Wonderful Service – Since getting my first tattoo there several years ago, I have gone back and gotten two more. The shop is phenomenal, as is everyone who works there. Marcii has done all three of my tattoos and I always feel very comfortable and welcome when I go in. Informative, clean, polite and patient. This is why I cannot see myself going anywhere else at this point. Love them!
I ended up at Lady Luck by chance simply because it seemed to be only tattoo shop in Portland open past 8 o'clock. I was getting my first tattoo and was incredibly clueless and nervous. The staff guided me into choosing the proper tattoo along with proper placement. My artist, Isaac did an amazing job not only on my tattoo but also with calming me down. I recently had a second tattoo done at Lady Luck by Chad as well as a touch up by Isaac. I'm in the process of choosing a third tattoo and this will definitely be my shop of choice! I highly recommend Lady Luck to anyone and everyone!
