worst service – We went on a Saturday evening at around 6:30, we had a large group of 12 and were told it would be about a half hour wait for a table. Finally after waiting over an hour we were told couldn't seat such a large group after we had seen them seat a group of about 10. Maybe this was the case but making us wait well over an hour before they told us is in my opinion pretty lousy service. We didn't mind not getting a table but don't make people wait that long at dinner time.
Also, we had a couple craft beers from their tap while we were waiting for a table and I'd say it was about the worst we have ever had and we go to beer tastings so we are usually willing to try unusual beers.
Used to Love this Place... – We started eating here about 3-4 years ago, loving the food, the good draft and good staff. Three months ago was the last time we will go there. Why? Because they've cut corners with the food that shouldn't be done.
My favorite dish was the Lamb Aus Jus sub. It was inspirationally good! The last time we went, the sub bun was DRY wasn't toasted like normal, or buttered. Just a dry baquette, nothing on it. The lamb was sliced and very little of it, with a 1/2 a slice of cheese that was barely melted on both halves of the sandwich. The onions were just about raw. Normally they are wonderfully grilled, carmelized. Good stuff. I had about 6 fries..normally about a dozen.
My husband had the stew. Stew in a pub should really shine, right? The few pieces of meat that were in it were grizzled ends, not fit for a sandwich, shouldn't be stewed. The potatoes that the "stew" was on, was powdered mash potatoes. No veggies in site: just a thin sauce. Please understand we LOVED this place.
The breakfast was normally fantastic, the Lamb Lollypops are legendary (which they are discontinuing). The bread pudding is unbelievable, and requires a visit just for that.
Now they are moving to Panini sandwiches like everyone else, discontinuing most of the food that made them better than the average in town.
I am so sad to here this. Their beers have been reduced down to very few in varieties (I don't drink much if at all, but if you go to a british pub, you expect beer).
So, sorry to have to do this, Fado, but we are looking else where for Brit/Irish food.
Great Food and even better Sports Pub – Upon moving to the US from England, I was pleasently surprised to find a buzzing atmosphere that gets up early to watch Premier League Football (Soccer) matches on Setanta or Fox. Most of the top teams a re represented, such Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Villa--but I was pleased to see some patrons in the pub (as early at 8am) supporting other clubs--Sunderland, Everton and Newcastle for example. The breakfast was tasty and the portions are great.! They offer Irish, English and American breakfast options. We noticed that most of the customers seemed to be "regular" patrons. Some had their own section (the Celtic FC Supporters Group) and the staff seemed to know everyone's favorite drink when they walked in! The patio is nice, though no television outdoors. It can be a bit of a "real" pub in the early mornings--which is a bit odd to say. Turns into a more family establishment in the afternoon. The staff, especially the bartenders, were very freindly and the guests seem to act as ambassadors to the venue for new people--which makes one feel very welcome. If you like european football, then this is a good place to visit.
Editorial Review by Christy Buena – Irish pub serves a selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and Shepherd's Pie and offers draught and bottled beer.
Good Pub Feel to it – I went to England when I was a teenager; true you can't compare the two, but Fado's did an okay job at recreating the pub feeling. Good stout beers and large portions of food.
Love FADO and Scott!! – Fado is truly an Irish pub in every sense of the word! The owner and staff know all the people that walk through the door and nobody goes unnoticed. The food was great and it was the best pint of Guinness I have ever had!!
Great Pub – I started working in Columbus in 2002, and Easton quickly became one of my favorite haunts, with Fado's high on my list. Speaking with some limited experience on English/Irish pubs, the atmosphere at Fado's is top-notch, with authentic-looking props and a nice comfortable "clubby" feel to it. The staff is very attentive and welcoming, and it doesn't take long to become a 'regular'. The Monday night trivia contests test your knowledge, with some great drink and gift certificate prizes. A great place for after work drinks, with some good strong brews on tap. Highly recommended!
At Home Feeling – I was impressed with the set up and all the decorations. You walk in and make yourself right at home. Don't you won't go unnoticed! Service is quick, friendly and exceptionally good. The food was great and personally perpared. If you want a casual night out with good spirits, it's a must.
