Made-to-order comfort food makes this casual place a hot spot for eating in, takeout and delivery. – The Scene
Where but home can you get a plate of warm chocolate chip cookies and a tall glass of milk? Zoom Kitchen, a modern substitute providing high-quality, great-tasting, home-style meals--including dessert. Most orders are to go, but there's plenty of room for dining in the comfortable, sleek space. In evenings the line can be long and servers harried, but service is generally very friendly and fast.

The Food
Grab a tray and file down the food line, which begins with a salad station where super-fresh field greens and Caesar salads are tossed to order. Salad add-ins include typical veggies, plus sweet corn off the cob, chickpeas, jicama and toasted pumpkin seeds. Next in line are sandwiches, soups and a large carving board, displaying hunks of ham, turkey, sirloin and meatloaf. Have the meats on a sandwich or with such sides as mashed potatoes, spicy macaroni and cheese or stir-fried vegetables.

Way overpriced – The food is good but it is WAY overpriced. When you pay $7 for a sandwich, it normally includes a side order, some chips, or a drink. At ZOOM, all you get is the sandwich itself.

The last time I went in, the lady was making a turkey and ham sandwich. I told her I would have one of those. She looked all conused and had to ask a manager if she could make a turkey and ham sandwich for me like she was making for the staff in the kitchen. The owner said she could but she would have to charge me an extra meat fee of $2.00 or something ridiculous. $9 for a turkey and ham sandwich- no thanks.

Did you say Salad? – Go there, order a salad with everything and a combo of citrus vinegrette and balsamic, and trust me, you will never go back to eating that bland chef salads that you get at a restaurant. Trust me. Run along. Order the salad.
