Reviews for Bierkraft

There are probably beer stores that are bigger, or nerdier, somewhere in New York, but to me, Bierkraft is the quintessential craft beer shop. If you're into beer, you can go there and talk all day.

Bierkraft does it all! – Bierkraft in Park Slope, Brooklyn is the best small beer store I've been to, hands down. When you walk in they have the fridge loaded with vintage beers on the left and shelving with newer beers on the right (it's not so cut and dry but that's what I noticed). There really are some gems to be found here for your beer cellar.

As you walk back there's a bottle filling station with a constantly changing assortment of fresh beers. They will fill any 64 oz. growler with a screw top or a 22 oz. capped bomber (if you don't bring your own glassware they will just charge you for deposit). The top 3 features of the filling station are:

-Utilizes a homemade counter pressure filling system (so the beer you get is essentially as if it were bottled from the brewery)

-WIll fill 22 oz. bombers for you (and cap them) so you don't have to buy 64 oz. of beer and worry about it staying fresh once you open it

-They feature some of the best beers that come into NYC (in the past they've had Ommegang Rouge, The Bruery Melange No. 3, and Goose Island Night Stalker)

To top everything off they have an incredible charcuterie (fancy word for deli). I chose the Italian - which features authentic Italian meats (coppicola, soppresata, mortadella) and the fixin's on a fresh ciabatta sub. For $9 you get the sub and your choice of local chips or local apple.

Any beer you purchase in the store can be drank on site in the nice and cozy picnic table-esque seating area - and they provide the glassware too!

Overall, this is a great place to go with your beer-loving friends and even if you don't care for beer you can still go and get one of the best sandwiches I've tasted in NYC.

Dood brah what was your problem? – It's more likely the staff member you interacted with was dead tired from working at a place where so many people enjoy shopping. Since the day it opened, Bierkraft has served up not only the finest, freshest selection of beeyas in the tri-state, but a friendly attitude as well. I support my local bodega, but when you want to go beer shopping, there's no other choice.

Bierkraft rocks.

Bring plenty of cash – Incredibly overpriced, and the salesperson I interacted with was downright rude. Go to the deli next door - they have a decent selection and its half the price.

Big Bottles of Beer!!! – This is one of the reasons Brooklyn is awesome. In addition to the mind boggling amount of beer, there is a huge cheese selection, and tons of chocolate. The people there obviously care a lot about what they're selling, and you can spend hours talking to the folks behind the cheese counter. They just started selling seasonal or specialty beer by the big bottle, and you bring in your big bottle and fill it up, then bring it back for more when it's empty! The world is a better place for this.

High-end beers--with prices to match. – Suds connoisseurs will no doubt find their jaws dropping at the astonishing array of imported beers chilling in the nearly store-length fridge. Said jaws may actually detach and hit the floor once the price tags are spotted. While one could conceivably break the bank catering a soiree with provisions from this pricey Fifth Avenue gourmet grocery and beer emporium, no doubt the guests would be left with fond memories of the evening's hard-to-find Italian sausages and rare Belgian brews while you're off in debtor's prison. Bierkraft also hosts frequent tasting events, with generous portions of featured beers and cheese, and guest speakers to boot.
